Background and History

Su Chen is a video-game player who arrives on Herta Space Station during an Antimatter Legion attack. Cornered by the Doomsday Beast, he receives the Myriad Worlds Role-Playing System and is forcibly fused with a female Rex Lapis Avatar. After killing the Beast, he invents the name Imaginary Divine Court to intimidate Herta’s puppets and calls himself its Fourth Seat 1 2 3.

The claim grows beyond his control. Welt, Himeko, Herta, and others treat the Court as a potentially supreme cosmic organization, while Su Chen improvises its history and rules to protect his secret. The fear and shock he inspires earn Shock Points, which unlock further Avatars 3 4 11 12 13.

As the Seventh Seat, his Gojo Avatar destroys much of a renewed Antimatter Legion fleet. He later stages a confrontation between Gojo and the Female Lord, convincing witnesses that the Court has multiple members and a strict hierarchy 16 17 19. On Jarilo-VI, he gains Esdeath’s Avatar and must repeatedly resist its bloodlust; he ultimately spares both Clara and Cocolia 34 39 42.

After controlling fifty Avatars in a universe-spanning battle, Su Chen publicly admits that he played every member of the Court. Most observers interpret the confession as further evidence of divinity rather than accepting it. The resulting Shock Points lead to the Court becoming real. Su Chen declines to rule it and departs aboard the Astral Express for Teyvat 44 45.

Su Chen’s original body is that of a black-haired young man. His Avatars change his body and presentation rather than merely changing his clothes 13 44.

Personality

Su Chen’s divine composure is often a performance. Behind the Female Lord’s aloof manner, he worries about being exposed, struggles to walk in heels, and is tempted by money he refuses in order to preserve his image 3 5 11. His Gojo persona is teasing and provocative, while Esdeath’s body pushes him toward cruelty that he consciously resists 26 34 39.

He can use intimidation casually, but he also shows restraint when others are at risk. He ends a staged clash between Avatars before it worsens, comforts the injured Clara, and leaves Cocolia alive for Jarilo-VI’s people to confront 40 39 42. Despite attaining supreme power, he prefers exploration to governance 45.
