History

Early Life and the Altered Uchiha Future

Sasuke is born to Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha and is cared for closely by his older brother, Itachi. When the Light Screen reveals his extraordinary future strength, the Uchiha elders begin treating him as a prospective savior of the Shinobi World. Fugaku prioritizes protecting the children rather than exploiting their potential and arranges special protection through the Fourth Hokage 5.

The screen later reveals a future in which Sasuke finds Itachi standing over their parents’ bodies. Itachi subjects him to agonizing genjutsu, calls him too weak to kill, and leaves him alive. Before departing Konoha, Itachi secures Hiruzen’s promise to protect Sasuke and threatens Danzō against harming him 38 40.

These revelations change the present. Danzō is arrested, Konoha’s leaders apologize to the Uchiha, and the clan avoids its projected destruction. Three peaceful years follow, during which Sasuke grows up lively, cherished, and surrounded by his living family 41 54.

Learning About Naruto

At three years old, Sasuke watches his future self prepare to kill the defeated Gaara, only to stop at Naruto’s demand. Itachi encourages him to learn from Naruto, make genuine friends, and earn others’ recognition. Sasuke becomes eager to meet the boy his brother describes as his future companion 43 44.

The next screening shows a much harsher relationship. In the Valley of the End, teenage Sasuke rejects Konoha and seeks power for revenge, dismissing Naruto’s warnings about Orochimaru. Their battle leaves both badly injured, and Sasuke’s lightning kirin destroys Naruto’s right hand 51 52 53.

After the review, the Light Screen grants three-year-old Sasuke his teenage counterpart’s peak power from that battle. Fugaku catches him when he loses consciousness and takes him home with Mikoto and Itachi 53 54.

Choosing a Different Path

Once Sasuke learns that Danzō orchestrated the circumstances behind Itachi’s future massacre, he no longer hates his brother. Disturbed by how his future self treated Naruto, he resolves to become Naruto’s true brother and fight beside him against the enemies ahead 56.

Obito subsequently enters Konoha demanding custody of Sasuke. Although he claims he can provide the training Sasuke needs, Fugaku rejects the offer as another attempt to use his son. Minato rescues Sasuke and Itachi, refuses to surrender the boy, and forces Obito to withdraw. Afterward, Sasuke and Naruto exchange a silent look outside the village 58 59.

The Opening Future Preview

In the opening preview, an adult Sasuke leads the Shinobi World’s forces against a Naruto intent on destroying the world. Sasuke says that he has killed Danzō, that Konoha has changed, and that Naruto’s parents can be revived. His appeal fails, and the two fight 3.

Sasuke counters Naruto’s enormous senjutsu Rasengan with Susanoo and Lightning God Spear Blade. The preview ends with both grievously wounded: Sasuke has lost his left eye and left hand, while Naruto has lost both hands 4.

The Visited Adult Timeline

During Young Naruto’s first journey to another timeline, middle-aged Sasuke evacuates civilians from the battle with Momoshiki and Kinshiki. He returns to witness the visitor overwhelm their enemies 66.

Young Naruto offers him Momoshiki’s severed arm to replace his missing limb. Sasuke initially refuses, having grown weary of pursuing ultimate power, but accepts when challenged about his ability to protect Konoha. The successful fusion restores his arm and transforms his ocular abilities 67.

Sasuke later opposes Young Naruto’s proposal to stage Sakura’s murder to awaken Sarada’s Mangekyō Sharingan. He and the Seventh Hokage choose to protect the children’s childhoods instead. After identifying the visitor as another Naruto, Sasuke is visibly relieved to learn that his parents, Itachi, and the Uchiha clan are alive in that world 70 71.

Recognizing that peace requires continued strength, Sasuke agrees to spar with the Seventh Hokage and transports them to another dimension 71.

The Historical Battle Against Kaguya

Young Naruto’s next journey brings him to a historical battlefield where Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi, and Obito are fighting Kaguya. Sasuke initially distrusts the masked newcomer and rejects his suggestion that they might take Kaguya’s eye 73 76.

When Kaguya gravely wounds Young Naruto, Sasuke exchanges positions with her to create an opening for Naruto’s attack. He then extracts the injured visitor from a glacial crevice and throws him to safety before returning to battle 77.

Kaguya later shatters Sasuke’s Susanoo and sends him toward lava, forcing Naruto to rescue him. Sasuke responds by proposing a coordinated sealing attempt using Shadow Clones and Rinnegan positioning, with Sakura watching from above 79.

Appearance

Sasuke has black hair and naturally dark eyes. His appearance changes substantially between childhood, his Curse Mark transformation, and the adult futures 41 52 53.

  • Teenage future: Wears black clothing; his newly awakened Mangekyō Sharingan has five-pointed-star patterns 51 53.
  • Curse Mark Stage Two: Develops black markings, deathly pale skin, darkened eye whites, and two pairs of ash-gray, wing-claw-like appendages 52.
  • Opening future preview: Has long hair, golden nine-tomoe Rinnegan in both eyes, nine floating Truth-Seeking Orbs, and a sword at his waist 3.
  • Enhanced middle-aged counterpart: Has one nine-tomoe Rinnegan, a blue Rinnegan in the other eye, and a scarlet nine-tomoe Rinnegan in his restored palm 67.

Personality

The altered-timeline child is lively, affectionate toward his family, and fascinated by his future abilities. Itachi’s guidance encourages him to value friendship and recognition rather than strength alone. After learning the truth behind the projected massacre, Sasuke chooses solidarity with Naruto instead of revenge against Itachi 41 44 56.

His screened teenage counterpart is consumed by revenge. He treats friendship as a threat to his resolve, mocks his former comrades, and pursues power despite Naruto’s warning that Orochimaru wants his body. Even so, Naruto recalls that Sasuke once risked his life to protect him in the Land of Waves 51 52.

Middle-aged Sasuke is more restrained and protective. He accepts greater power for Konoha’s defense rather than personal ambition, reacts fiercely to the proposed manipulation of Sarada, and refuses to make his daughter suffer merely to accelerate her development 67 70 71.

Abilities & Skills

Sharingan and Mangekyō Sharingan

Sasuke’s teenage future and altered childhood both possess five-pointed-star Mangekyō Sharingan 53.

  • Inherited experience: The Light Screen grants the child combat memories and practical strategies alongside ocular power 53.
  • Control limitation: Receiving the eyes does not immediately give young Sasuke mastery over them 56.
  • Eyesight risk: Fugaku and Itachi warn that repeated damaging ocular techniques can cause blindness. Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan is identified as the evolution needed to remove that burden 56.
  • Amaterasu: The middle-aged counterpart previously possessed its black flames but loses them after the Ōtsutsuki-arm fusion 67.

Rinnegan and Space-Time Techniques

Different timelines show different Rinnegan configurations and applications 3 67 76.

  • Spatial displacement: Exchanges positions with Kaguya and extracts Young Naruto from a glacial crevice 77.
  • Dimensional travel: Uses his enhanced Nine-Tomoe Rinnegan to take the Seventh Hokage into another dimension for sparring 71.
  • Palm Rinnegan: Momoshiki’s transplanted arm is described as capable of absorbing ninjutsu, amplifying it several times, and returning it. Sasuke gains a scarlet nine-tomoe eye in that palm after fusion 67.
  • Enhanced reserves: The fusion restores dormant yin power and substantially increases his chakra and ocular strength 67.

Lightning Release

Sasuke uses Chidori and increasingly destructive black-lightning techniques in the Valley of the End 52.

  • Chidori: Pierces Naruto’s shoulder; the complete range of variants is later included in young Sasuke’s reward 52 53.
  • Black Lightning Chidori: Clashes with Naruto’s crimson Rasengan, with the collisions damaging the valley’s enormous statues 52.
  • Black Lightning Skyward Thundercloud: Gathers black lightning into a gigantic kirin that destroys Naruto’s right hand 52.
  • Lightning God Spear Blade: Used through Susanoo to counter Naruto’s Ultra-Big Ball Senjutsu Rasengan in the opening preview 4.

Susanoo

Sasuke manifests an enormous purple Susanoo armed with a sword in each hand during the battle against Kaguya 79.

  • Provides a large-scale offensive and defensive construct 4 79.
  • Cannot withstand Kaguya’s direct strike: she breaks its swords and shatters the construct 79.

Curse Mark and Physical Combat

Curse Mark Stage Two multiplies teenage Sasuke’s strength and gives him wing-like appendages 52.

  • Enhanced force: His transformed claws catch and throw aside Naruto’s Rasengan 52.
  • Taijutsu: Uses precise catches, throws, and kicks to repeatedly overpower Naruto before the latter’s one-tail transformation 51 52.
  • Fire and movement techniques: Combines Great Fireball Technique, Body Flicker, and Chidori in a rapid attack sequence 52.
  • Rewarded techniques: Three-year-old Sasuke inherits the transformation and lethal taijutsu demonstrated in the future battle 53.

Six Paths-Level Combat

The historical Sasuke fighting Kaguya is explicitly identified as a full-fledged Six Paths-level combatant 77.

  • Fights as one of the principal combatants alongside Six Paths Naruto 77.
  • Coordinates a sealing strategy based on positioning, clones, and support from Sakura 79.
  • The opening-preview counterpart possesses nine Truth-Seeking Orbs, though their individual use is not shown in the supplied passages 3.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Grass Woven Sword — Worn at his waist in the opening future preview 3.
  • Shuriken — Practices with them as a three-year-old 44.
  • Momoshiki’s severed arm — Accepted by middle-aged Sasuke as a replacement limb and fused to his body using Young Naruto’s Nine-Tails chakra 67.

Relationships

  • Itachi Uchiha — Older brother and childhood caretaker. His projected massacre drives teenage Sasuke’s revenge, but the altered-timeline child learns his motives and chooses not to hate him 5 38 44 56.
  • Fugaku Uchiha — Father. Arranges Sasuke’s protection, helps him understand his new eyes, and fiercely opposes Obito taking him away 5 54 56 58.
  • Mikoto Uchiha — Mother. Survives in the altered timeline and accompanies the family when Sasuke is taken home after receiving his reward 5 44 54.
  • Naruto Uzumaki — Friend, rival, and opponent across timelines. Young Sasuke resolves to stand beside him, while their adult counterparts cooperate to protect Konoha and prepare for future threats 51 52 56 71.

  • Boruto Uzumaki — Receives Rasengan instruction from middle-aged Sasuke, who recognizes his talent and explains his vanishing Rasengan to Naruto 70.
  • Minato Namikaze — Protector in the altered timeline. Rescues Sasuke from Obito and refuses to surrender him 58 59.
  • Obito Uchiha — Attempts to take young Sasuke from Konoha, claiming he can teach him every ability he possesses; Sasuke’s family and the village reject the demand 58 59.
