Even in Cloakwood, some distance from Baldur's Gate, Aaron, Nastya, and Shar felt a distinct tremor. Following Shar's pointing finger, they witnessed a Twin-tailed Comet plunge toward Baldur's Gate.
The ground shook, and Aaron and Nastya saw a green mushroom cloud rise at the edge of the horizon.

Aaron immediately understood what had happened far beyond his sight. He searched the night sky for the comet again, but the Twin-tailed Comet had vanished, replaced by an enormous cloud slowly rising over the horizon.
"This doesn't look good, Aaron. Do you know what that was?" Nastya tightened her grip on the Sun-Moon Blades. "The only thing I can think of is tremendously powerful legendary magic. An ordinary Meteor Swarm couldn't do that."
"I'm afraid even ten Meteor Swarms couldn't do that. A normal ninth-circle Meteor Swarm only drops a few large meteors from the sky." Aaron's expression shifted uncertainly. Watching the distant mushroom cloud, he instinctively raised his thumb, closed one eye, and compared its size against the cloud.

After a quick comparison, Aaron found that the mushroom cloud was smaller than his thumb. He breathed a sigh of relief, then turned to Shar. "You knew all along?"
"Of course." Shar's avatar nodded indifferently. "I noticed long ago."
"Then why didn't you tell me sooner?" Aaron's brows knitted tightly. "You knew the Great Horned Rat had launched a comet. Why didn't you tell me? And you even suggested we camp in the forest? We're wasting time!"
