After the gods left the Pantheon one after another, Aaron and Mama Selûne straightened their clothes and left as well.

Selûne's mature, gentle, motherly face remained turned toward Aaron, her most beloved child and greatest pride. When she saw him looking back at her, tenderness and indulgence flickered in her beautiful eyes. "You really are something... There were so many deities there. Didn't you want to leave yourself any room to maneuver? You made your position clear so early. You were a perfectly neutral deity. You could have stayed above it all, just like the other Elemental Lords and Waukeen."

"Everything I have today is thanks to you, Mama Selûne." Aaron held her hand tightly, feeling a delicate, soothing fragrance seep into him. He winked at her. "Since my awakening, three people have done me tremendous kindnesses. Eleanor saved my life, you truly saved everything that made me who I am, and Alusair provided the material resources I needed. What I owe you is higher than the heavens and deeper than the seas!"

The debt Aaron owed Selûne kept accruing interest. He could never repay it.

"I've done so much for Cormyr. I passed up at least three chances to crown myself emperor. I gave Alusair all the territories I conquered, the armies I raised, and the staggering wealth I accumulated through all those wars, repaying her for recognizing my worth." Aaron
