Konoha: Starting with the Tenseigan, Taking Charge of Team 7

Everyone in Team 7 looked at Cangyue in confusion.

What was Shape Transformation? What was Nature Transformation?

They had never even heard of them!

The only part they understood was releasing Chakra.

"Cangyue-sensei, I didn't understand any of that!" Naruto Uzumaki said, his face full of questions.

"With your brain, that's only natural. I'll just show you."

Aogetsu Hyuga raised a hand. Pale blue Chakra appeared in his palm, then spun like a tornado until it formed a pale blue sphere of energy.

"Rasengan."

"First, you release Chakra and control it. Then you compress it and make it spin. That's how you create the Rasengan, the pinnacle of Shape Transformation." Aogetsu Hyuga gave the Rasengan in his palm a little shake.

"You can use Chakra like that?" Sakura Haruno was taken aback. She took out her notebook and carefully wrote down what Cangyue said. This was her first introduction to Shape Transformation after releasing Chakra.

Crack! Fractures spread across the boulder. It broke apart and crashed to the ground, kicking up thick clouds of dust.

Naruto Uzumaki stared blankly. "It broke a rock that big? What... what an incredible move!"

"The Rasengan looks weak. It doesn't even look as powerful as a woman shaking her chest. But it destroys things from the inside." Aogetsu Hyuga waved away the dust around him and coughed twice. "Cough, cough. I'm choking here."

"Cangyue-sensei, please teach me the Rasengan!" Naruto Uzumaki looked at Cangyue expectantly, stars practically shining in his eyes.

The Rasengan... I take it all back!

If he mastered the Rasengan, he could show off in front of Sasuke!

Just thinking about it felt great!

"You little brat. You change your tune faster than a woman changes her mind." Aogetsu Hyuga was speechless. None of the women he'd met could reverse course as quickly as Naruto.

One second he was mocking the Rasengan; the next, learning it was all he could dream about.

Sakura Haruno asked curiously, "Cangyue-sensei, you said the Rasengan uses Shape Transformation. Then what's Nature Transformation?"

"Mmph—ouch!" Sakura Haruno let out a soft grunt as she hit the ground. Her face flushed with anger, and she snapped, "You're a creep who likes picking on girls, aren't you?"

Aogetsu Hyuga considered that seriously for a moment, then smiled. "It is pretty fun."

"Pervert," Sakura Haruno muttered.

Sasuke Uchiha said coolly, "Cangyue-sensei, ignore those two idiots. Please continue explaining Nature Transformation."

He could clearly feel himself drawing closer to the power he sought. He had no time for Naruto and Sakura, those two fools and their antics!

"Right. Getting stronger is important, after all. The Rasengan is Shape Transformation without an element. Release Chakra and infuse it with an element, and you get what's called Nature Transformation." Aogetsu Hyuga raised a finger. "Infusing Chakra with an element causes Nature Transformation. Increase the amount of elemental Chakra, and it becomes a technique." Cangyue Hyuga raised his hand. Pale blue Chakra appeared in his palm, then turned into deep blue electricity.

Bzzzt! The lightning in Cangyue's palm roared like birds calling. The piercing sound rang across the area, making everyone in Team 7's heart race.

"This is the pinnacle of Nature Transformation, a first-rate Lightning Release technique: Chidori." Electricity sprayed from Aogetsu Hyuga's palm, slicing across the ground like blades and carving marks into it.

Cangyue Hyuga added, "Of course, that dead-eyed guy developed it. Respecting intellectual property is important."

The Second Hokage had been very particular about that.

When Aogetsu Hyuga had traveled through various countries with nothing to do, he had developed plenty of dangerous techniques himself. But using those techniques required Six Paths Power!

"That looks amazing!" Naruto Uzumaki's eyes shone as he stared at the lightning in Cangyue's palm. He thought Chidori looked stronger than the Rasengan.

The Rasengan looked weak.

But Chidori looked powerful!

"Let's see what it can do." Cangyue Hyuga walked up to a boulder and drove his lightning-covered hand straight through the massive rock.

Crash! The boulder broke apart and fell heavily to the ground.

Everyone sucked in a breath. The members of Team 7 stared at the huge rock Chidori had pierced, their eyes filled with shock.

So strong!

Chidori was clearly more destructive than the Rasengan!

"Sasuke, Naruto, you little brats can each pick one to learn." Cangyue Hyuga raised both hands. Deep blue electricity crackled in one, while Chakra spun in the other.

He was curious to see what they would choose.

Sasuke Uchiha studied Chidori coolly with his Two-Tomoe Sharingan, then shifted his gaze to the Rasengan. After a moment, the corner of his mouth lifted. "I want to learn the Rasengan."

He thought the Rasengan was more useful and seemed to have room for further development. More importantly, Chidori was too loud. An enemy would definitely notice him using it.

Naruto Uzumaki looked from Chidori to the Rasengan and back again. After a moment, he grinned. "I want to learn Chidori! It looks really powerful, and it's so cool!"

The Rasengan was powerful too, but Chidori still felt stronger.

Most importantly, Chidori looked cool. He could show off with it!

"Idiot. You can use the Rasengan with a small amount of Chakra, but Chidori consumes a lot," Sasuke Uchiha taunted.

Naruto Uzumaki bristled. "What are you acting so smug for?"

Sasuke Uchiha turned his head away. "Hmph."

Naruto Uzumaki turned his head away too. "Tch."

"Fair enough. Showing off is important, after all." Cangyue Hyuga wasn't surprised. He had known what the brats would pick.

"Since you each have your own ideas, let's compromise." Cangyue Hyuga clapped his hands together and smiled. "Naruto, you'll learn the Rasengan. Sasuke, you'll learn Chidori."

"Who wants to learn that lousy Rasengan? Chidori's obviously cooler!" Naruto Uzumaki protested.

"Why?" Sasuke Uchiha asked, puzzled. He was sure Cangyue had a reason for saying that.

Cangyue Hyuga said, "It's advice from an excellent ninja."

There was no advice behind it.

Naruto had to make spinning spheres.

Sasuke had to shoot lightning.

How else was he supposed to complete the Master-Disciple Mission?

Naruto Uzumaki complained, "What kind of answer is that?"

"Fox brat, blow up a few balloons." Cangyue Hyuga took out a bag of balloons and tossed it to the complaining Naruto Uzumaki.

"What am I blowing up balloons for?" Naruto Uzumaki caught the bag and, thoroughly confused, inflated a few.

"Pour Chakra into a balloon, then make it burst." Cangyue Hyuga picked one up and infused it with Chakra. Its shape warped violently before it burst with a pop.

"Hmm..." Naruto Uzumaki picked up a balloon in a daze and tried pouring Chakra into it.

One second passed.

The balloon didn't change.

Two seconds passed.

Naruto Uzumaki's face turned red from straining, but the balloon still didn't change.

Five seconds passed.

"Aaaah! Damn it!" Naruto Uzumaki's face was bright red, his wide eyes bloodshot. He glared at the balloon through clenched teeth. "You bastard! I'll pop you right now!"

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't release his Chakra.

"Are you constipated?" Cangyue Hyuga asked flatly.

He's so stupid!

"Idiot." Sasuke Uchiha picked up a balloon and took a deep breath. Pale blue Chakra appeared in his palm, and the balloon's shape warped violently, but he still couldn't make it burst.
