Background / History

Family and early life

Mikoto’s parents and Liuyun’s parents die in battle. Her grandmother takes Liuyun in, but subsequently passes away as well. Left dependent on one another, Mikoto and Liuyun live together in a dilapidated house. Mikoto declines better clan housing because she is concerned for his safety 1.

Her third-tier Uchiha talent benefits provide enough money to feed both of them throughout the month, with some left over. Despite her outward gentleness, her parents’ deaths continue to trouble her: she dreams of witnessing their murder and being threatened by the same killer 3 10.

Academy and Team 6

At the Academy, Mikoto challenges Yuantong when he approaches Liuyun and tries to separate them. As Liuyun’s abilities attract attention, she correctly recognizes that the clan leadership’s interest stems from his performance 4 9.

After graduation, Mikoto joins Liuyun and Kushina on Team 6 under Tsunade. During an early assessment, she traps Tsunade with a wire-linked weapons barrage before attacking from above with Phoenix Flower Jutsu. Tsunade defeats the combination but praises her meticulous planning 21 22 29.
