Background

Touko was raised from birth to inherit the Aozaki family and receive the Fifth Magic. At eighteen, her grandfather unexpectedly named her younger sister, Aoko, as heir instead. The decision destroyed Touko’s expected future and drove her to pursue magecraft at the Clock Tower despite substantial debt. 158

At the Clock Tower, Touko studied under Brishisan’s guidance and was initially connected to the Department of Creation, where Einolai was her teacher and Souren Araya was her classmate. She later joined the Department of Lore. 16 116

Personality

Early in the story, Touko is ditzy, innocent, expressionless, and easily embarrassed. She forgets to bring money for meals, has a notably hearty appetite, and can misunderstand Li Mo’s intentions. 19 20

She also has a sharp and formidable side. With her glasses on, she can become cold, focused, and incisive; after her training at the Clock Tower, she confidently dismisses Aoko’s inexperience and neutralizes her Fifth Magic with a rune. 59 94

Touko is deeply devoted to Li Mo. She searches for him for two years, arranges a Holy Grail War in an attempt to find him, and later builds her life around their relationship rather than her former resentment. 59 115 116 158
