Long Yao personally built the True Dragon Tower to accelerate Soul Masters’ training and gradually influence the minds of those cultivating there. Over thousands of years, its influence helped keep Skywater Academy under his control despite his absence, with successive generations regarding the unseen headmaster as an object of faith 13.

The academy preserved a saying that its headmaster would return when the tower shone again. While Shui Yuerou was explaining this legend to Shui Bing’er, the tower’s patterns awakened and all nine floors blazed with golden light. Long Yao appeared within the pillar rising from its summit, fulfilling the legend before the academy’s students and staff 13.
