Harry survived the ambush on his way to the hearing and returned to Hogwarts, where Umbridge began undermining Dumbledore and targeting Lupin. Will resisted Umbridge, pursued a possible werewolf cure, and received a warning from Grindelwald’s vision about his and Harry’s future.
Will expanded the High Tower, investigated werewolf magic through dangerous experiments, and planned to force Umbridge out of Hogwarts. Harry saw Snape’s memories of James and Will, leaving him troubled and prompting Dumbledore to stress the importance of Occlumency.
Will helped Lupin undergo a painful procedure to remove his werewolf form before Umbridge could expose him. Umbridge’s false accusation collapsed, but Will then confronted the departing Ministry officials and reporters with his strange multiplying magic.
Will infiltrated the Death Eaters’ failed attack on Azkaban, captured Bellatrix, and gave Voldemort the Lestranges’ medicinal herb trade while learning that a spy was among the Death Eaters. Back at Hogwarts, he pursued his Happiness Potion research, helped Hagrid build Grawp a home, and went with Dumbledore to meet Grindelwald.
Will completed the Despair Curse while Fudge tightened his grip on Hogwarts and Dumbledore drew Percy into secret cooperation. Harry’s vision revealed Voldemort’s plan in Romania, while Will returned to his laboratory with Bellatrix as a test subject.
Will developed the Happiness Charm, which Dumbledore renamed the Dream Charm, while Dumbledore worked to bring Fudge against Voldemort. The arc ended with Will choosing his electives and Scrimgeour handing the Auror mole investigation to Umbridge under Fudge’s orders.
As Will completed his O.W.L.s, Voldemort’s Death Eaters attacked the Ministry and Will confronted Voldemort while secretly binding Scrimgeour to him. The Ministry announced Voldemort’s return, Fudge’s impeachment, and an election that left Scrimgeour poised to become Minister, as Harry recognized that a new war had begun.
Will secured the Howard family and the Saints as allies, developed Soul Studies, and offered werewolves a cure while helping Scrimgeour prepare for Voldemort. Death Eater attacks damaged Diagon Alley and Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, and Dumbledore found Flamel Manor ransacked.
Will delivered Origin Spells to the Ministry, treated Frank and Alice Longbottom, and learned that Voldemort had given both him and Snape one year to complete dangerous tasks. As Dumbledore enlisted Will to search for Horcruxes, Death Eaters seized Knockturn Alley, leaving Will to prepare for the coming school year.
Will helped Dumbledore manage Draco’s secret mission while pursuing his own magical research and responsibilities at Hogwarts. The arc ended with Will preparing to investigate a missing Howard family operative in America as Dumbledore learned that Death Eaters were targeting Invisibility Cloak makers.
Will advanced his plans to gain influence in the American Wizarding World while helping Dumbledore and Snape mislead Voldemort about the Origin Spells and Deathly Hallows. The arc ended with foreign Dark Wizards attacking Hogsmeade as Will and Professor Flitwick arrived in the burning village.
Will helped prepare a plan against Voldemort while pursuing research, supporting his friends, and organizing the High Tower. The arc ended with Will giving its members study notes and Tower Medals, setting rules for the group, and receiving their pledge of loyalty.
Will pursued research into magic, souls, and Scrimgeour’s curse while preparing to leave Hogwarts after Christmas. As Dumbledore’s forces trapped Death Eaters and Voldemort tasked Will with transporting students, Will recognized Knockturn Alley’s growing power and set out toward several unfinished plans.
Will advanced the Magical University project, strengthened his influence over the Wizard God’s followers, and prepared a hidden laboratory to study Voldemort’s curse. Meanwhile, Dumbledore told Harry he was an accidental Horcrux, and Harry’s confrontation with Snape ended with Will stopping him.
