Will woke after sleeping for two days and found Draco waiting to take him to Malfoy Manor. Draco revealed that he suspected Snape might be under pressure from the Dark Lord, and Will convinced him that Snape was Dumbledore’s spy before offering to deal with Draco’s dangerous knowledge.

• Will woke hungry, made breakfast, and discovered Draco had arrived to escort him to Malfoy Manor.
• Draco told Will that Snape had visited the manor and that Lucius believed the Dark Lord had given Snape a difficult task.

• Will and Draco arrived at Malfoy Manor and were greeted respectfully by the Death Eaters, including Corban Yaxley and his nephew Luther.

• Kane ordered the complaining Aurors to report to the Training Ground for new training.
• Scrimgeour summoned Evan to demonstrate Confringo against a Magical Puppet Dummy.
• Scrimgeour cast his own Confringo, reducing an identical dummy to powder and stunning the Aurors.
• Scrimgeour introduced the spell as an Origin Spell and warned that the Aurors' current skills were inadequate against Voldemort and the Death Eaters.

Will and Snape arrived at 12 Grimmauld Place, where they learned Kingsley had been gravely wounded and the Order had run out of Blood-Replenishing Potion. Will saved Kingsley with an unexplained magical treatment, then encountered two people in the hospital corridor.

• Snape and Will reached 12 Grimmauld Place and learned from Hagrid that Dumbledore was away in France.
• Dedalus Diggle arrived covered in blood and said Kingsley Shacklebolt was at St. Mungo's after a Death Eater's Jinx caused severe blood loss.
• Sirius found that the Order had no Blood-Replenishing Potion, and Snape said he could not brew one quickly enough.

Will reunited with Neville and Cedric at St. Mungo’s and offered to examine Neville’s parents, who had been incapacitated since fighting Voldemort. Mrs. Longbottom agreed to let Will accompany them to the ward, leaving him poised to assess whether he could treat the Longbottoms.

• Will met Cedric and learned that a Bird-Shaped Man-Eater had injured Cedric’s father during an assignment at Mount Snowdon.
• Neville told Will he had come with his grandmother to visit his parents, and Will offered to examine and try to treat them.

Will calmed the panicked customers in Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and followed the commotion into Knockturn Alley, where Death Eaters attacked Gilbert's Necromancy Shop. After they killed Gilbert, Will watched the battle and wondered what the Death Eaters were trying to accomplish.

• Customers in Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes panicked, and Will used magic to calm most of them while Mr. Weasley tried to restore order.
• Will left the shop and discovered that the disturbance came from Knockturn Alley, where Aurors had sealed off the entrance after an explosion.
• Will slipped past the Aurors and flew through Knockturn Alley toward the continuing blasts.
• At Gilbert's Necromancy Shop, Will saw masked Death Eaters fight the elderly Gilbert as he defended his shop with spells, jars of blood-red flies, and crawling severed hands.
• A Death Eater killed Gilbert with the Killing Curse, and Will wondered what the attackers wanted.

Will witnessed the Death Eaters seize control of Knockturn Alley, then reunited with his friends as the Aurors restored order in Diagon Alley. After finishing their school shopping, he took Sylvia to Lestrange Manor and later went to examine the Longbottom family before leaving for Hogwarts.

• Will saw the Death Eaters kill a wizard and announce their takeover of Knockturn Alley, with Caractacus Burke publicly supporting them.
• Will returned to Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, where Aurors checked the sleeping customers and George and Fred watched a suspected thief.
