Will expanded his magical studies at the High Tower, then traveled to Egypt with Snape and became entangled in Nefertari’s attempt at Ascension. He escaped the collapsing ritual with a pact to help Nefertari in the future, then recovered and returned to England with Snape and Hobart.

• Will shared his expertise with Fred and George, helped them develop their animal-transformation treats, and expanded the Stone House into the High Tower.
• Will studied Chinese transformation traditions, helped Hermione consider her own interests, and learned about Animagus rituals before leaving for Egypt with Snape.
• In Egypt, Will studied Uagadou’s approach to Transfiguration with Aisha, learned that tomb robbers had unleashed a curse, and experimented with rituals in the desert.
• Nefertari possessed Khafre, captured Will, and drew him into preparations for an Ascension Ritual, promising ancient knowledge in return for his help.
• Will helped Nefertari perform the ritual, but the magic collapsed, Khafre’s body disintegrated, and Nefertari dissolved into dark smoke.

Will infiltrated Voldemort’s plans while preparing a staged Basilisk attack that would make Harry a hero. Harry killed the Basilisk, but the confrontation exposed Will as Voldemort, and Hogwarts was left believing Harry might be dead.

• Dumbledore examined the mark Ramesses II had left on Will, began treating it, and warned that it could corrupt his soul.
• Will agreed to let Draco Malfoy join the High Tower on probation, then recruited Peter Pettigrew to spy on Harry and help stage a Basilisk attack.
• Will and Dumbledore planned for Will to appear to kill Harry, while Dumbledore used the pause in Will’s training to strengthen Harry’s reputation.
• Will expanded the High Tower and arranged for Peter to separate Ron from Harry, then inspected the lifelike Basilisk Dumbledore had made for the performance.
• Harry confronted the hooded figure and the Basilisk, followed Strange’s guidance, and was disarmed by Voldemort as the creature closed in.
• The Sorting Hat brought Harry the Sword of Gryffindor, and Harry killed the Basilisk but was petrified by its dying gaze.

Will secretly helped Voldemort exploit Harry’s supposed death while studying soul Transfiguration and completing a powerful Animagus transformation. After learning Harry could soon recover, Will sabotaged the Mandrakes and escaped the Greenhouse with Peter when Moody interrupted them.

• Draco told Dumbledore that Will had controlled the Basilisk and attacked Harry, but Dumbledore revealed that Harry was alive and recruited Draco to his side.
• Dumbledore trained Harry in secret while Will studied soul Transfiguration and learned how dangerous it was to alter the soul, body, and magic together.
• Will began the Animagus Ritual with a Mandrake leaf, gained Formless Chaos, and transformed into multiple animal forms, including a phoenix-like Fantastic Beast.
• Will completed the Ritual during a storm, discovered that he could cast spells in animal forms, and showed Professor McGonagall his Silver-and-Black Falcon form.
• Will persuaded Professor McGonagall to give him a Time-Turner application, then used Veritaserum to learn from Peter that Harry was alive and could be revived with Mandrake potion.
• Will ordered Peter to search for Harry and secretly planned to destroy the Mandrakes, while rumors of the sabotage spread through Hogwarts.
• Will and Peter entered the Greenhouse to destroy the Mandrakes, but Moody interrupted them, so Peter hid as a rat and Will transformed into a Venomous Snake.
• Will and Peter escaped through a Secret Passage after Moody left, while Harry remained petrified and Mr. Strange expected the Mandrakes to mature soon.

After recovering, Harry reunites with his friends and faces a difficult summer before returning to Hogwarts. Will visits Malfoy Manor, discovers how to use his Time-Turner, and begins the school year amid ominous predictions and a Boggart that takes his own form.

• Harry returned to Hogwarts, where Dumbledore welcomed him and announced that he had recovered through careful treatment and Phoenix Tears.
• Will helped Harry prepare for exams, but Harry and several friends overslept and missed the Charms exam after combining sleep aids.
• Will learned Voldemort had invited him to Malfoy Manor, while Harry and his friends left for the summer and learned Percy had been secretly dating Penelope Clearwater.
• Will returned home, studied, and helped Lupin handle Mrs. Green’s confession, and later, he disguised himself as Williams Howard to persuade Vernon to let Harry attend a birthday party.
• Will visited Malfoy Manor, where Voldemort presented him to the Death Eaters as his outstanding student and ordered him to become a public figure and deal with Harry Potter.
• Harry stayed in Diagon Alley under Fudge’s protection, and Will spotted Sirius disguised as a black dog before the friends returned to Hogwarts, where a Dementor attacked their train.
• Professor McGonagall gave Will a Time-Turner for attending overlapping classes, and Will used the Wizard’s Eye to transform it into a watch and test a short trip into the past.
• Will attended Trelawney’s classes and heard her predict mortal danger for him, and he later began studying Hippogriffs and faced a Boggart that appeared as a pale boy with silver-gray eyes who looked exactly like him.
