Ōnoki led over ten thousand Stone Shinobi toward the battlefield. At the sight of the wooden figure and the Nine-Tails, both over a hundred meters tall, he was utterly horrified.
Just yesterday, he had received intelligence that Hiruzen Sarutobi had left Konoha and was heading to the Stone Shinobi front to clash with Shimura Danzō. When that happened, Konoha would split apart.
Ōnoki had been stunned when he received the report.
He had suspected it was a Konoha plot. After all, Hiruzen Sarutobi and Shimura Danzō had an excellent relationship.
Shimura Danzō had made tremendous contributions to Hiruzen Sarutobi's rise to Hokage. His title, the Darkness of Konoha, was renowned, and some people even called him the Darkness of the Shinobi World.
That alone showed just how notorious Shimura Danzō was throughout the shinobi world.
But what if it was true?
The source was indeed a spy Iwagakure had planted in Konoha. If they seized the opportunity presented by Hiruzen Sarutobi and Shimura Danzō's conflict to capture them both, wouldn't they win the war against Konoha without a fight?
Uchiha Yi might be a powerful fighter, but could he fight an entire village? Even if he was a second Madara Uchiha, so what?
Ōnoki was no longer the man he had once been. Even against Madara Uchiha, he was confident he could bring his opponent down.
Besides, Uchiha Yi couldn't possibly abandon Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Hokage.
Ōnoki had quietly gathered the Stone Shinobi, but he had never expected to encounter a scene like this.
Wood Release had appeared, and so had the Nine-Tails.
From far away, they had seen Wood Release battling the Nine-Tails. Though they had no idea what was happening, they knew about Mito Uzumaki, the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki.
Ōnoki didn't believe Mito Uzumaki had much fighting strength left.
