Background and History

Xu Chuan is a transmigrator born to a peasant family in Dongxi Village. His mother died when he was three, and his father, Xu Ping, died from overwork when Xu Chuan was fifteen. Rather than remain a well-paid laborer for the wealthy Xu Lineage, Xu Chuan spent nearly all his savings on ten mu of rice paddies and began farming independently. He is cautious without being passive. Warned of a robbery by divination, he prepares traps and hidden crossbows, then helps defend the home. When the Xu Lineage attempts to pressure his family over its Jade Pears, he refuses the demand and lets Xu Mao’s conduct bring consequences upon him 11 23 26.
