Xu Mingwei is the eldest son of Xu Chuan and Bai Jing. As a child, he helped with the family’s harvest and studied at home under his father’s instruction and his mother’s supervision. At six, Xu Chuan chose him to carry the Xu lineage forward, bestowed two Fate Talents on him, and began a demanding routine of martial arts, archery, study, and practical lessons in managing the family’s land 2 7.

His training continued alongside farm work. By nine, he could practice the Little Dragon Elephant Art independently; as he grew older, he regularly entered the woods to fight fierce beasts and gain combat experience. He also continued practicing calligraphy after recognizing its value in tempering his resolve 8 16 19.

After reaching Xiantian, Mingwei learned the secret Xiantian Five Elements Creation Art from Xu Chuan. His father instructed him to keep it confidential and prepared him to take charge of household affairs while he cultivated in seclusion. He takes his responsibilities to the household seriously, but remains affectionate toward his siblings and protective of his wife and son 17 38 43.

In contests, he can be decisive without needlessly humiliating an opponent. He stopped his bout with Hall Master Black Wind before the older fighter was badly hurt and gave him a dignified way to withdraw 41.
