Ch. 261Leng Qing's Lap Pillow
Plot points and events
- After the Judgment Hall’s overnight purge of the Black Vatican, Mo Xie returns home exhausted and has a nightmare in which Xu Zhaoting is captured, cursed, and forced to kill Zhang Lulu. He wakes to find Leng Qing tending to him with his head in her lap.
- Leng Qing comforts Mo Xie and uses her Psychic power to help him rest. Though embarrassed that he grabbed her breast while half-asleep, she privately treats it as a playful reward for his role in the operation.
- The next morning, Mo Xie visits Xu Zhaoting in the hospital. He reports that the Black Vatican has been driven out of Magic City and tells Xu that their group won first place. Because Xu was badly injured fighting the cult, Dean Xiao has also granted him a chance to enter the Three-Step Tower, giving him two chances in total.
- Mo Xie gives Xu a valuable Lightning Element Spirit Seed, Violet Lightning, which greatly strengthens lightning attacks. Xu initially refuses, but Mo urges him to accept it and repay the gift by training hard. Zhang Lulu returns as Mo leaves.
- At Parthenon Temple, a mysterious woman in white asks Ye Chang for permission to meet the younger brother she has never seen. Ye allows it but warns her not to overstep. The woman privately implies that Ye was the one who crossed a boundary first.
Character developments and interactions
- Mo Xie is shaken by his nightmare but reassured by Leng Qing. He also shows generosity and loyalty by visiting Xu and giving him the Spirit Seed.
- Leng Qing reveals a warmer, more teasing side beneath her usual composure. She comforts Mo and rationalizes their intimate moment as a reward for him.
- Xu Zhaoting is relieved that the Black Vatican has been defeated and grateful for his opportunities, but feels deeply indebted to Mo.
- Zhang Lulu remains Xu’s caring companion, leaving to get breakfast and returning as Mo departs.
- Ye Chang and the woman in white share a charged, mysterious exchange that hints at a complicated history and a connection between the woman and Ye’s “little brother.”
