The Long-Lost Dad Makes a Grand Entrance

"Don't be afraid! He only has two Master Class Pokémon. Let's attack together!"

"Right! Together!"

The gathered experts shouted, but not one of them dared make the first move!

They were afraid.

Each feared Xu Mu would kill their strongest Pokémon, leaving them too weak to claim their rightful share.

They had been willing to cross Xu Mu for the sake of profit.

Now that same desire held them back, leaving them hesitant to advance.

"A bunch of cowards! Afraid of your own shadows, and you call yourselves experts?"

"Know why you'll never become Champions? You're too soft!"

"Trash! Come at me, and I'll take a couple of you down with me!"

Xu Mu shouted without restraint. Though the experts facing him were stronger than he was, he showed no fear.

Worried that his taunts would provoke them into a rage, Cynthia squeezed his hand gently, trying to get him to stop.

"Don't worry. They wouldn't let me go even if I kept quiet!"

"If I'm going to die either way, why not die with my head held high?"

"I'm going to trample their pride. Even if I die, these bastards will live in my shadow for the rest of their lives."

Xu Mu gritted his teeth and spoke each word clearly.

His voice carried far. He did not care if the experts heard every word.

"Bastard! I've had enough!"

One man flew into a rage and ordered his Golem to use Rock Slide on Mega Charizard X.

At his command, the other experts joined in. Countless powerful moves struck at Xu Mu's two Pokémon at once.

No one attacked Xu Mu himself.

Cynthia was still beside him, and they did not dare hurt her.

Xu Mu was just an ordinary nobody. They had no qualms about taking what he had found.

But if they wanted to live long enough to enjoy the treasure afterward,

Cynthia was someone they absolutely could not touch.

"You really dared attack? Look at you, all grown up! Ready to kill your own father!"

Xu Mu laughed wildly as he directed Greninja through Telepathy and gave Mega Charizard X commands aloud.

But there were too many opponents.

Even as the champion of a Pokémon tournament in his previous life, Xu Mu had never faced anything like this.

Mega Charizard X fell first.

Then the barrage of attacks knocked Greninja out of its transformed state.

In an instant, the battle became hopelessly one-sided. The experts pressed forward until they were less than ten meters from Xu Mu.

"Hand over the Pokémon Egg. With the Saintess here, you might still get to keep your life!"

One man glared at Xu Mu and spoke with brazen arrogance.

"Get lost, you piece of trash!"

Xu Mu looked at him with contempt and snorted.

"You don't dare kill me. Cowards, the lot of you."

"I've been a Trainer for less than a month, and I've already come this far."

"If I survive today, I'll make trouble for you for the rest of your lives!"

"It's too late for words now, you cowards. Come on. I've memorized every one of your faces!"

"The Pokémon Egg is right here in my arms. Come take it!"

Xu Mu roared, the veins standing out on his neck.

"Enough of this. We've gone this far. None of us can back out now!"

"I'll take it. You hold him down!"

"No, I'll do it!"

"Let me handle it, gentlemen."

The experts paid no heed to Xu Mu's threats.

They had yet to seize the egg only because they were wary of one another.

Just as before, no one wanted to be the first to act.

Who knew what kind of Pokémon was inside that egg?

If it truly was a Legendary Pokémon, would the first person to get hold of the egg really hand it over?

"Hahaha! You scum call yourselves experts?"

Xu Mu looked at them with disdain and kept hurling insults.

"Shut up, kid!"

One man finally snapped and shouted at Xu Mu.

At the same time, his Alakazam used Confusion, reaching for the Pokémon Egg in Xu Mu's hands.

At that critical moment, a voice rang out from the distance!

"You're the one who should shut up!"

Boom!

A Hyper Beam slammed into Alakazam!

A man in a blue robe came walking toward them.

He walked slowly, murderous intent radiating from every inch of him!

The moment the blue-robed man appeared, every expert froze in disbelief.

"What's he doing here?"

"Wasn't he at the border?"

"Wait, wasn't he fighting Team Rocket? How did he get here?"

"We're finished!"

They stared at the blue-robed man, whispering in disbelief.

He walked over to Greninja and helped it up.

"Croak!"

Master, I'm sorry.

"You gave it your all. You did well."

With that, the blue-robed man continued forward until he reached Xu Mu.

He paid the gathered experts no attention. As he walked through them, they stepped aside of their own accord.

"You really are my son, kid. You've got the same spirit I had back then!"

The man stopped before Xu Mu and laughed.

Xu Mu went still.

So did everyone else!

What happened to him being an ordinary nobody?

Turns out he's the son of someone important!

We were supposed to settle this among ourselves, and he went and called in his dad?

Xu Mu had not expected the father who had been missing for years to suddenly return.

And apparently, he was kind of a big deal!

"Uh..."

Xu Mu opened his mouth, but had no idea what to say.

What, go up and punch the bastard?

You've got to be kidding. Only an idiot would do that!

This dad of mine is that powerful, and you want me to punch him instead of getting on his good side?

"Never mind. I'll deal with these people first."

Xu Mu's father had wanted to say more, but decided the moment was not right.

He turned to face the experts.

"Trying to steal from my son?"

"You've got some nerve!"

"I won't waste words. Be sensible and don't resist. It won't hurt when I kill you."

Xu Mu's father licked his lips cruelly, and his murderous intent surged once more!

"Persian, do it!"

A streak of light flashed through the crowd like lightning, darting back and forth!

At his command, the experts fell one after another.

Blood sprayed!

Xu Mu's eyes went wide as he stared at the father who had just appeared out of nowhere!

He's that strong?

And these people really don't dare fight back?

They're just lining up to die?

They're that obedient?

In fewer than ten breaths, the only people left alive were Xu Mu, Cynthia, and Xu Mu's father.

Every expert who had just been clamoring to steal Xu Mu's Pokémon Egg was dead!
