Jiraiya Leaves the Village

A pall of sorrow hung over all of Konoha.

Every ninja in Konoha gathered before the Memorial Stone, dressed in black to mourn Uchiha Yoru.

Some were so grief-stricken that their shoulders would not stop shaking.

"Ha... ha... ha. Waaaah! Uchiha Yoru, you died such a terrible death!"

"China, aren't you overdoing it?"

"Waaah... Why did you have to die so young?"

"China, stop making a scene!"

"Waaah... I'm so sad... ha... ha...!"

"You're banned from the Arcade from now on!"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" China hurriedly begged for mercy.

"Uchiha Yoru, attending your own funeral? You're the first person in Konoha to pull that off!" Tsunade came over to tease him too.

"You lot... Hmph!"

Uchiha Yoru wished he had never agreed to their suggestion. A funeral, a memorial service, a tribute to everything he had done for Konoha.

Even Hiruzen Sarutobi had not gotten that kind of treatment!

Uchiha Yoru left before the funeral was over and went to the Yakiniku Restaurant for a meal.

He could not tell whether everyone was crying for him or laughing at him. Either way, it was getting on his nerves. Better to slip away.

Just then, Kakashi and Asuma walked in. Without a hint of embarrassment, they picked up two pairs of chopsticks and started eating.

"Kakashi, Asuma, if either of you says I'm dead again, I'll find somewhere we can spar!" Uchiha Yoru warned them in advance.

"Jiraiya's here. He's with Uchiha Itachi, discussing something. Uchiha Itachi said he wanted your opinion!"

"About what?"

"They seem to have located Akatsuki's headquarters in Amegakure. Jiraiya plans to carry out an Infiltration and take a look, but Lord Hokage doesn't want him to. Sounds like they're arguing about it right now!" Asuma said, swallowing a large piece of beef.
