In Jiang Hao's Divine Kingdom, Asmodeus, thirteen feet tall and dressed in red and black, opened his long-narrowed eyes when Baalzebul cried out his divine name.

He slowly rose from the ground, setting the chains that stretched in from every direction and pierced his body rattling. Seated on his Divine Throne, Jiang Hao drew his gaze back from the Main Plane and tapped the armrest. At his command, more chains emerged from the void and pierced Asmodeus's body.

"Baalzebul is communing with the Abyssal Will and letting it invade the Main Plane so he can become a True God."

"Are you going to stand by and let that happen?"

Asmodeus's ethereal voice carried through the air of the Divine Kingdom to Jiang Hao's ears.

Jiang Hao smiled. "I trust he won't simply leave the Abyssal Will unchecked."

The title Blood God sounded like that of an Evil God, but whether Baalzebul would become one depended entirely on him, just as it had with the God of War.

War had nothing to do with Justice. As a concept, it leaned toward neutrality, while its conduct leaned toward evil. In theory, the God of War should have belonged to either the Neutral Alignment or an evil one. Yet in reality, he was one of the benevolent gods of the Sevenfold Heavenly Mountain.

Judging by Baalzebul's conduct, this member of the Astral Race, who had not wholly succumbed to Corruption even after falling from the Sevenfold Heavenly Mountain into the Nine Hells, was unlikely to join the ranks of Evil Gods.

For one thing, every site Baalzebul had chosen for an Altar to aid his ascension was a desolate, uninhabited place.
