In the original plot recalled by Li Qingshan, Ah Yin would leave the forest, meet Tang Hao and Tang Xiao, and fall in love with Tang Hao. Pursuit by Spirit Hall would eventually force her into a ritual sacrifice. Afterward, Tang Hao would plant her in a dark, damp cave with little sunlight for more than a decade 49.
