The moment Fang Ying drove him out, CC rushed over. "Daddy, when are you gonna give me the Dragon Meat you promised?"

Chen Hao rolled his eyes at him irritably. "Look where we are. What if someone spots it when I take it out? Then you won't get a single bite. Just wait."

Sent packing by Chen Hao's rebuke, CC slunk back into the pack of female military dogs, his head hanging.

Watching CC fit right in wherever he went, Chen Hao really felt as though his life was worse than a dog's.

He found a relatively clean spot to lie down and gazed up at the star-filled sky. Suddenly, he found himself missing those goofy immortals. Without a signal, he couldn't chat with them, and things really did feel rather dull.

After he had lain there for a while, Qin Yumo poked her head out of the tent. "Hey, when are you coming in to get some rest?"

Chen Hao paused, then sat up. "Oh, I'm fine out here. You go ahead and sleep."

Qin Yumo chuckled. "What, feeling shy?"

Chen Hao smiled. "No. If you're fine with it, why would I be shy?"

"Suit yourself!" Qin Yumo rolled her eyes at him and ducked back inside.

Smack!

Chen Hao slapped his arm hard, killing a mosquito. "Damn it, this makes no sense. My defense is already so strong, yet I still can't keep mosquitoes out."

At some point, the tent's zipper slowly slid open.

Propping up her head, Qin Yumo saw that it was Chen Hao and smiled. "What's this? Didn't our great saint say he wasn't coming in?"

Chen Hao rubbed his head with a rueful smile and chuckled at Qin Yumo inside. "Uh, I changed my mind. There are a few too many mosquitoes out there.
