Power Progression

The following are documented breakthroughs and stage milestones, rather than a complete list of cultivators.

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
First level — Tongtian 591 While trapped in battlefield memories, absorbs an Inner Core from a slain beast. The surrounding space has no spiritual energy with which to replenish his cultivation.
Realm entry — Shen Ni 975 Reaches the realm in three years under Tongtian’s mentorship in the recreated Primordial World.
Realm entry — Feng Jiu 1005 Breaks through under Yuanfeng and Shen Ni’s protection. Teachings about the realm become comprehensible afterward.
Realm entry — Nuwa 1030 Her breakthrough is already complete; she withstands Heavenly Tribulation through her exceptional vitality.
Middle stage — Shen Ni 1033 Confirmed at this stage. Deliberately postpones further advancement to build a firm foundation and deepen his Dao comprehension.
Late stage — Shen Ni 1043 1045 Insights into the Great Way of Power remove his remaining obstacle; he subsequently survives the breakthrough tribulation.
Realm entry — Houtu 1115 1117 Establishes the Netherworld and receives immense merit. Completes her breakthrough after reaching the realm’s threshold.
Realm entry — Bai Ming and Zhen Yuanzi 1119 Both are confirmed to have advanced. Zhen Yuanzi reports to the Beast Emperor Palace afterward.
Realm entry — Fuxi, then Suiren Shi 1120 Fuxi becomes the Human Race’s first expert ten thousand years after the world’s ascension. His advancement helps make Suiren Shi’s subsequent breakthrough easier.
Advancement beyond the realm — Beast Emperor Palace cultivators 1218 Tongtian raises cultivators from the middle and late Primordial Origin stages into the Primordial Chaos Realm while improving their Great Dao comprehension. Their foundations still require consolidation.

Cultivation and Breakthroughs

Requirements

  • Accumulation and comprehension: Shen Ni’s physique and other reserves were sufficient for advancement before his understanding of the Great Way of Power caught up. He held back rather than enter the late stage with incomplete mastery 1043.
  • Talent: The realm remains a threshold that screens cultivators by aptitude, even after the Primordial World becomes much easier to cultivate in 1142.
  • Instruction: Early experts of the Three Clans had to explore the realm largely without guidance, slowing their progress. Shen Ni later offers to explain its mysteries 1038.
  • Heavenly Tribulation: Both entry and advancement within the realm can involve tribulations. Middle-stage tribulations are explicitly documented 1117 1170.

Breakthroughs are not guaranteed. After the Primordial World’s ascension, nearly ten candidates fail and suffer serious injuries, although they survive to attempt advancement again 1118.

Documented Routes

Route Example Conditions or limitations
Cultivation supported by mentorship Shen Ni Tongtian’s instruction enables unusually rapid entry, but Shen Ni later insists on steady accumulation before advancing further 975 1033.
Absorption of concentrated spiritual power Tongtian An Inner Core supplies the energy needed for his first-level breakthrough inside the otherwise energy-starved battlefield ruins 591.
Insight through creation and the study of souls Nuwa Her work with wandering spirits and newly created bodies develops her understanding of life. Tongtian attributes her progress to her own talent and interests 1015.
Establishing a world-benefiting order Houtu Creating the Netherworld and reincarnation provides merit and a rare path unavailable through her ordinary cultivation circumstances 1110 1115 1117.
Heavenly Dao-assisted Sagehood The unnamed Heavenly Dao Sage Produces rapid advancement in rank and aura without corresponding mastery or reliable combat strength 1033 1040.

Not every expert must cultivate into the realm from a lower stage: Chi Ya was born with Primordial Origin Realm cultivation and consequently remembers the attack in which his mother died 728.

Abilities and Limits

Combat Strength

  • Primordial Origin experts stand far above Quasi-Saints. The realm is described as a race’s true foundation, something that sheer numbers of Quasi-Saints cannot replace 1195.
  • A middle-stage cultivator can defeat a late-stage opponent through superior Dao comprehension, techniques, and practical mastery 1040.
  • The middle-to-late-stage gap is described as roughly a tenfold difference in spiritual power, not a tenfold increase in every divine ability’s destructive force. Greater reserves chiefly improve endurance and access to certain abilities 1040.
  • Exceptional experts can overwhelm others within the realm: Nuwa instantly defeats Guiche while at the peak of the early stage 1140 1141.

Rank alone is therefore an unreliable measure of fighting ability. Tongtian identifies the Heavenly Dao’s late-stage champion as a counterfeit powerhouse whose cultivation and aura conceal inadequate understanding of the realm’s capabilities 1033 1040.

Divine Abilities and Life Creation

  • King Qin Guang demonstrates Great Wilderness Footprint, an enormous projected footprint that attacks Tongtian and Houtu with overwhelming heavenly might 323.
  • Experts can create crudely fashioned life-forms without profound mastery of creation or reincarnation 1120.
  • Creating a small, powerful race is possible, but such beings may have limited reproductive ability and a low cultivation ceiling. The Asura Clan illustrates these shortcomings 1120.

Travel and Dangerous Environments

  • After the Primordial World’s ascension, an expert can circle the enlarged world dozens of times within a hundred years. A Daluo Golden Immortal struggles to cross it once in that period 1120.
  • The realm is the minimum practical threshold for exploring the Ruined Divine Domain. Quasi-Saints die in its chaos turbulence, leaving exploration largely to Primordial Origin cultivators and above 840.

Upper Limits

  • Primordial Origin strength offers no meaningful chance against a God Realm opponent; Tongtian considers such a confrontation certain death for Shen Ni 1045.
  • Even this realm is insufficient for safely opening heaven and earth in the recreated Primordial World. Tongtian judges that he might have died performing the task with only Primordial Origin strength 968.
  • Further growth leads through Dao-Unification, then Primordial Chaos, with the God Realm beyond them 1135.

Relationship with the Heavenly Dao

Independent Cultivation and Heavenly Dao Sagehood

The distinction between Primordial Origin cultivation and Heavenly Dao Sagehood concerns both freedom and actual strength.

Aspect Primordial Origin cultivation Heavenly Dao Sagehood
Authority Tongtian’s protected disciples avoid Heavenly Dao control 1047. Merit Sainthood can place cultivators under the Heavenly Dao’s authority 1040.
Cultivation rank Advances through documented stages of the realm 1043 1045. Holds an equivalent rank 1035.
Combat strength Depends on foundations, techniques, and Dao comprehension 1040. May be inflated when the Heavenly Dao grants advancement without adequate mastery 1033 1040.
Further development Genuine growth requires overcoming the world’s constraints 981. Sages ascending under those constraints become controlled, limited versions 981.

The unnamed Heavenly Dao Sage reaches the middle and late stages in rapid succession. His rise is intended to promote an easier Sainthood Method and restore the Heavenly Dao’s influence, but Tongtian recognizes that his apparent strength is largely manufactured 1033.

After his death, the Sage’s Heavenly Dao laws return to the Heavenly Dao and his spiritual energy disperses throughout the world. The narrative explicitly excludes him from the ranks of true Primordial Origin experts 1049.

Suppression of Breakthroughs

  • New Primordial Origin cultivators draw on power that weakens the Heavenly Dao, giving it a reason to obstruct advancement 1005.
  • The Heavenly Dao suppresses breakthroughs for millions of years. The Qilin Clan’s talent and resources would otherwise have supported success much earlier 1017.
  • As Tongtian strengthens the world, its increased capacity makes more experts sustainable. The Heavenly Dao lifts its restrictions, also recognizing that an approaching crisis requires stronger defenders 1017.
  • Tongtian’s protection deters interference with Houtu’s tribulation 1117.

Development in the Primordial World

Tongtian’s recreated world develops differently from its former history. His power and Creation Energy strengthen its inhabitants and make the world itself more stable, creating conditions for a much larger population of high-level cultivators 969.

Period Development
Early recreated world The world can support several dozen Primordial Origin cultivators, but cannot yet sustain higher realms 1005.
Three Clans’ dominance Shen Ni, Yuanfeng, Ancestral Dragon, and Feng Jiu provide the realm-level backing that distinguishes the strongest factions 1017.
Growing world capacity Stronger terrain and increased spiritual energy allow more experts to exist without overwhelming the world 1017.
Hundred-year ascension Tongtian expands and reinforces the world while Primordial Origin experts protect its inhabitants 1117.
Post-ascension breakthroughs Nearly a hundred secluded Quasi-Saint candidates emerge to attempt advancement 1118.
Humanity’s entry Fuxi and Suiren Shi become the Human Race’s first documented experts 1120.
Beast Emperor Palace’s public display More than ten thousand Primordial Origin experts appear, many formerly belonging to the Three Clans 1121.
Emergency preparation for war Tongtian accelerates advancement beyond the realm, overturning the inhabitants’ belief that it marks cultivation’s ceiling 1218.

Before the recreation, the Interception Sect already had more than forty Primordial Origin cultivators. Xihe was cultivating at the Second Heaven of the realm during that period 840.

Political and Military Significance

Factional Standing

  • Primordial Origin backing determines whether a faction counts among the Primordial World’s strongest powers 1017.
  • The Demon Heavenly Court is initially considered limited despite its organization because it lacks such an expert 1016.
  • Houtu’s advancement strengthens the Witch Clan’s position against the Demon Race 1117.
  • Within humanity, an expert is regarded as belonging to the Human Race as a whole, rather than merely to a family. Their relatives gain status but also inherit substantial obligations 1214.

Beast Emperor Palace Oversight

  • Newly advanced experts must report to the Palace within one hundred years 1118 1120.
  • Attacking others before reporting, or otherwise provoking the Palace, brings severe punishment 1118.
  • The Palace supplies cultivation methods and restricts intervention in worldly affairs, but does not prohibit all action 1120.
  • Its experts also perform collective duties, including guarding the world during ascension and transporting weaker beings to its universal Dao lecture 1117 1121.

Standing Beyond the Primordial World

In wars across the Myriad Heavens and Worlds, deities determine the outcome, while Dao-Unification and Primordial Chaos cultivators form the military backbone. Primordial Origin cultivators occupy a much lower supporting tier 1119.

Tongtian describes them as higher-grade expendable forces when considering a God King-scale conflict. The text also qualifies that assessment: even the wider worlds cannot simply treat all Primordial Origin experts as disposable, whereas Quasi-Saints are the true cannon fodder 1119.

Mortality

  • Primordial Origin cultivation does not confer invincibility. Guiche’s death is presented as the first death of a genuine expert in the recreated Primordial World, and the Heavenly Dao’s mourning serves as a public warning 1141.
  • The earlier Heavenly Dao Sage’s destruction is treated separately because he was not considered a true Primordial Origin cultivator 1049.
  • Vast differences in mastery remain possible within the realm: newly advanced experts recognize their inferiority immediately when exposed to Shen Ni’s aura 1118.
