Background / History

Separation from Tongtian

Mietian originates from Tongtian’s Heavenly Demon Avatar, which possesses Pangu’s Demon God Dharma Form and establishes a separate identity. He retains Tongtian’s memories from before their separation, but rejects his main body’s cooperation with Dao Cultivators. Both seek to protect the Primordial World and help Luohu; Mietian treats conquest and coercion as the means to achieve those goals 704 722 733.

He later tells Tongtian that he would never have existed without Tongtian’s desire to conquer the Myriad Heavens and Worlds and release demonic cultivators. His rebirth from an incomplete primordial-spirit fragment intensifies the savagery already associated with his origin in negative emotions 744 748.

Attacks on Fengxue Commandery

Recognizing that a direct attack on Fengxue City would expose him to encirclement, Mietian instead targets its less-protected neighboring cities. At Tianluo City, he destroys Hua Rong’s five elemental dragons, overwhelms Han Bing’s formations, and devastates half the city 704 705.

Mietian allows an initial group to escape and carry his message, then destroys the Teleportation Array and seals the remaining inhabitants beneath a Sky Veil and Void Magic Array. The captives become leverage intended to force Tongtian’s group to release Rakshasa Heaven 705 706.

At Tianhe City, the pursuing cultivators find only dried corpses. Tongtian concludes that Mietian had expected him to arrive and neutralize the victims’ demonic qi; Bai Yushan’s earlier intervention instead exposed their fatal condition. By then, Mietian has also disappeared from the system’s tracking 722.

Mantong’s Capture and the First Defeat

Mietian senses the Godslayer Magic Array within Mantong and decides to seize the Golden Armor Puppet. His current body cannot use the array, whereas Mantong’s stronger body offers a potential substitute. He captures Mantong, begins overwhelming his resistance, and removes him in a chaos space when reinforcements attack the surrounding barrier 733 734.

After securing Rakshasa Heaven’s submission, Mietian uses the controlled Mantong—now resembling Tongtian—to apply the array to her and more than double her strength. He makes clear that she is his subordinate, not his partner 737.

His subsequent attempt to kill Tongtian misfires: the figure he traps is only an avatar. Having sacrificed Rakshasa Heaven and damaged his own cultivation for the confrontation, Mietian tries to devour that avatar. Tongtian exploits their merging powers to recall both the avatar and the weakened Pangu Dharma Form through the system, defeating Mietian’s immediate incarnation 741 743 744.

Rebirth and Gong Xuan’s Captivity

Mietian survives through the primordial-spirit fragment previously placed in Mantong. It consumes the puppet’s consciousness, allowing him to return independently of Tongtian and the system. He ambushes Tongtian in Yunhai City, abducts Gong Xuan, and destroys the escape route behind him 746 747 748.

Trapped by a province-wide blockade, he occupies the Heavenly Abundance Sect and controls its leaders. Seeking the entrance secret of the Tyrant Blade Secret Realm, he tortures Gong Xuan, kills disciples to pressure him, and forces him to consume the sect’s cultivators. Mietian also plans to raise Gong Xuan to the Primordial Chaos Realm and possess him as a replacement body 748 749 750.

He then impersonates Tongtian in Skyreach City. Gong Xuan’s eventual primordial-spirit self-detonation prevents Mietian from obtaining the secret he most wants, while survivors expose his disguise. Tongtian and Bai Zeyu arrange for him to be teleported into Hunting Cloud City, where their allies destroy his puppet body 751 756 757 758 759.

Luo Tian’s Body and Prison Suppression

Before the Hunting Cloud City battle, Mietian hides a finger component containing primordial-spirit power and a wisp of nothingness. Fifty years later, this contingency enables him to reconstruct his spirit and possess Luo Tian 757 761.

Bai Zeyu throws him into Prison Suppression, where Mietian rapidly consumes the Demon-Subduing Sutra restraining his cultivation. He treats imprisonment as an opportunity to devour prisoners and build an army, sparing Hong Tian in exchange for information about the prison 763 765.

Mietian massacres Heavenly Star City and attacks Kelin City with Hong Tian and Tree Demon. He deliberately leaves messengers alive to provoke Kui Gang, but changes course when continued consumption threatens to corrupt him into a mindless Chaos Demon 768 770 772 773.

Conquest of the Tyrant Blade Secret Realm

Unable to break the secret realm’s seal through brute force, Mietian communicates with the Sky-Piercing Divine Ape on the other side and directs it to adjust the formation. After entering, he reverses the array to block the demons pursuing his group 773 774.

Kui Xing initially crushes Mietian through superior cultivation. Mietian recovers by drawing power from Hong Tian, Tree Demon, and the Divine Ape, then transforms and empowers them with nothingness. Their coordinated attacks overturn the battle, and Kui Xing is consumed completely, including his primordial spirit 778 779.

As the realm’s new ruler, Mietian orders its inhabitants to search for Spirit Treasure Divine Sabers and enters seclusion. Mastering the Nine-Turn Mystical Art restores his Dao cultivation; he subsequently teaches the art to his three trusted followers. After surviving Kui Gang’s self-detonation, he recognizes the God Realm’s influence over the secret realm and postpones a direct challenge to it 780 781 783.

Returning to Prison Suppression, Mietian launches a rebellion against both its confinement and the Four Great Demon Venerables’ authority. Within a few days, more than thirty percent of its Heavenly Demons pledge themselves to him 784.

Seven Star City and the Demon Army

Jade Face captures Mietian and brings him to Seven Star City, originally expecting him to help free the sealed God-Demons. Instead, the two strike a bargain: he transforms her into a Chaos Cultivator with the power of nothingness, and she permits him to drain the Four Great Demon Venerables 881.

Their power carries Mietian through the Microcosm Realm into the Supreme Realm. He then unseals the other God-Demons individually and forces them into submission, consolidating Seven Star City over roughly ten more years. Before Hongjun, fourteen Microcosm Realm God-Demons salute him as their ruler 878 881.

Mietian also captures Huolie and uses him to compel Huoyun’s cooperation, securing both with primordial-spirit fragments and implanted arrays. To break the stalemate around his escape, he breaches the Demon-Sealing Well, confronts Chi Ya, and later gains the ability to use the Demon-Subduing Sutra 882 883 885 890.

Invasion of the Shiva Holy Land

Mietian opens Prison Suppression’s seal and leads the God-Demons out. He organizes simultaneous attacks on the Three Heavenly Venerable Mountains, using feigned weakness to draw out their guardians while other attackers destroy the protective arrays. All three mountains fall 890 891.

His assault on Human Emperor City nearly breaks its defenders, but Shi Zhan maintains the fortune array long enough for the Three Human Emperor Manors to open a temporary Heavenly Gate. Mietian’s assumption that the Heavenly Venerables cannot return proves wrong 892.

Great God Qinghuo exposes the gap between Mietian’s accumulated cultivation and his poorly developed techniques. Cornered, Mietian breaks Prison Suppression’s seals to release the remaining Heavenly Demons, tearing apart Brahma Heaven Province and bringing the Sacred Land World close to collapse. He later sacrifices half his physical body while fleeing toward the prison 897 898.

Destruction and Reincarnation

Mietian’s attempted counterattack is caught by a Demon-Subduing Array. The Four Great Demon Venerables restrain him and reclaim the power he stole, leaving him powerless and disintegrating in the Mystic Sea. He nevertheless insists that the destroyed body is not his true body 915 917.

Combined divination by Qinghuo and the four Demon Venerables confirms that Mietian had already sent part of his primordial spirit into reincarnation across the Myriad Worlds. The timing, identity, and cultivation of that reincarnated self remain unknown 917 918.

Tongtian learns that Mietian must eventually kill him to sever their shared karma and pursue the supreme Great Dao. Divine Moth advises that Tongtian can reverse the danger by reaching supreme power first, allowing his original-body karma to suppress the reincarnated Mietian below advancement beyond the Microcosm Realm 918.

Mietian combines Tongtian’s intelligence and protective ambitions with far less restraint. He frames domination as a way to restore the Primordial World and secure Luohu’s survival, but readily uses massacres, hostages, torture, and forced transformation to pursue it. His claim to be delivering the Heavenly Demons leaves them a choice between submission and consumption 718 737 748 772.

His arrogance does not prevent contingency planning. He avoids obvious encirclement, retreats when reinforcements threaten his plans, hides an escape fragment before battle, and prepares reincarnation well before his final defeat. He can also revise grand ambitions when confronted with the God Realm’s superior power 704 734 757 783 918.

Initially, he views Hong Tian and Tree Demon as reserve food. Their refusal to betray him during the fight with Kui Xing earns genuine trust, leading him to share cultivation methods and rely on them as guards. He also ends the suffering of the prisoner tortured by Chi Ya, treating destruction of the shattered spirit as release rather than continued torment 768 780 781 883.
