Shin Uchiha captured Isobu and prepared to return the Three-Tails to Kirigakure while dealing with threats to Tsunade’s authority and making plans to save Utakata. The arc ended with Shin giving Isobu to Mei Terumi and reuniting with her and Chinatsu.

• Kakuzu canceled his mission and retreated with the defeated Hidan, while Kakashi stopped Naruto and Sasuke from pursuing them and later received Shin’s treatment and advice.
• Shin found Isobu in a lake, subdued him, and persuaded him to return to Kirigakure, promising to protect him from the man seeking to capture the tailed beasts.
• Shin secretly killed White Zetsu before he could report Isobu’s capture, then took Isobu into his space and drained some of his chakra while the beast recovered.
• Shin ordered Haku to destroy the Gato Group and compensate the people of the Land of Waves, then returned to Konoha and learned that Koharu and Homura were challenging Tsunade’s authority.
• Shin introduced Isobu to Matatabi and explained to Tsunade that he planned to return the Three-Tails to Mei and extract the Six-Tails from Utakata without killing him.
• Tsunade agreed to teach Shin One’s Own Life Reincarnation, and Shin asked Danzō to make Koharu and Homura retire quietly.
• Shin offered Ayame help opening a ramen branch, then teleported to Kirigakure, reunited with Mei, and gave her Isobu as a gift.

Shin Uchiha secured allies and jinchūriki while preparing Konoha for Orochimaru’s planned attack during the Chunin Ninja Exams. The exams began with Shin watching his students gather, while Orochimaru’s plans remained concealed.

• Shin Uchiha sealed the Three-Tails into Yuki Kumo, learned Orochimaru would disrupt the exams, and welcomed Fang the Thunder Sword back to Kirigakure.
• Shin disguised himself as Ōnoki to reach Han, drained the Five-Tails’ chakra, and stole Iwagakure’s Scroll of Seals while escaping with Kurotsuchi.
• Shin brought Mei Terumi and the Kirigakure delegation to Konoha, where Tsunade hosted them and discussed Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and the coming exams with Shin.
• Shin recognized that Kazekage Rasa was Orochimaru in disguise and warned Tsunade that the Konoha Crush was coming, while Tsunade prepared Nawaki and Uzuki Yugao for the exams.
• Naruto returned to Konoha with Sasuke and their teammates, and Shin helped register Teams 7 and 10 for the Chunin Ninja Exams.
• Shin met Kabuto at the orphanage, received scrolls on Orochimaru’s techniques, and promised to protect Nonō and the orphanage if danger came.

Shin protected Nawaki and the exam participants while several contestants faced danger in the Forest of Death. The arc ended as the individual matches began and Obito prepared to use the Konoha Crush to retrieve his Sharingan.

• Ibiki announced the Chunin Exam’s first stage, and Shin learned that the Daimyo would attend the final round despite the Palace targeting Konoha’s businesses.
• Shin refused Anko’s proposal to suspend the exams after Orochimaru killed participants, then protected Nawaki when Orochimaru tried to capture him for an experiment.
• Nawaki evaded Orochimaru with the Flying Thunder God Technique and chose to remain in the exams, while Shin drove Orochimaru away.
• Sasuke and Naruto rescued Sakura and her injured teammates from the Otogakure team, and Karin treated Rock Lee.
• Shin stopped Gaara from attacking Hinata’s team, then flew with Hinata and kissed her above the stone tower.
• Shin removed Neji’s Caged Bird Seal, and Neji agreed to leave with him after the exams.
• Yugao announced the next round of matches, while Obito agreed to exploit the Konoha Crush to retrieve his Sharingan from Kakashi.
• Sasuke provoked Naruto into the opening match against Kiba, and Karin judged Naruto and Sasuke evenly matched.

Shin Uchiha gathered chakra from Utakata, Gaara, and Fū while helping them and their villages, and he arranged new training for Naruto and Sasuke. The arc ended with Shin revealing to Jiraiya that his Mangekyō Sharingan granted him a more accurate prophetic ability than the Great Toad Sage’s.

• Naruto defeated Kiba, and Uchiha Mai defeated Temari before Shin marked Mai with his protection and shared fire-release knowledge with her.
• Shin and Uchiha Shi subdued Utakata, removed the Six-Tails after Utakata agreed, and Shin later persuaded Mei Terumi to revoke Utakata’s arrest warrant.
• Mei Terumi invited Uzuki Yugao to study swordsmanship in Kirigakure, and Yugao accepted after deciding to report the offer to Tsunade.
• Shin arranged to pursue the Seven-Tails, then strengthened Gaara’s seal with Kushina’s help so Shukaku could no longer disturb or control him.
• Shin traveled to Takigakure with Karin, Naruto, and Sasuke, took some of Fū’s Seven-Tails chakra, warned her about the organization hunting tailed beasts, and gave her a marked kunai for summoning him.
• Shin sent Sasuke to train with Kakashi and Naruto to find Jiraiya, who refused Naruto’s request after Naruto exposed his peeping at the women’s bath.
• Shin confronted Jiraiya, learned about the Child of Prophecy, and revealed that his Mangekyō Sharingan gave him clearer and more accurate prophetic visions than the Great Toad Sage’s.
