Son Goku gave Chi-Chi, Ox-King, Son Gohan, Krillin, Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Master Roshi, Korin, Kami, Mr. Popo, King Kai, Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta, Son Goshin, Son Gohin, Piccolo, and the others ten Spirit Tree Fruits each.
After eating the Spirit Tree Fruits, nearly everyone gained three hundred thousand in power level.
For Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta, Son Goshin, Son Gohin, and Piccolo, that increase was little more than better than nothing.
But for Chi-Chi, Ox-King, Master Roshi, Korin, Kami, Mr. Popo, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Krillin, King Kai, and the others, it was an enormous boost.
A power level in the hundreds of thousands was enough to reign supreme in the remote corners of Universe 7.
That night, Son Goku engaged Chi-Chi and Bulma in an intimate battle that lasted until dawn. Faced with his limitless stamina, both women soon surrendered, and they did not slowly awaken until the following afternoon.
In the days that followed, Son Goku resumed his weighted training.
Even though Son Goku could already transform into Super Saiyan 2, he dared not slack off in the slightest. After all, the enemies ahead would only grow stronger, and he had to improve quickly if he wanted to stay in control and master his own destiny.
After increasing his Weighted Clothing to ten thousand times gravity, Son Goku returned to the hundred-times Gravity Room to train.
Half a year later, Son Goku successfully completed his training in the hundred-times Gravity Room. His base power level reached an astonishing nine hundred ninety million, eleven times what it had been before, and he could now use three-thousandfold Kaioken.
Although the boost from his Super Saiyan transformation could no longer match Kaioken, Son Goku still decided to train his Super Saiyan 2 form.
He planned to bring Super Saiyan 2 to full power within six months, then attempt to transform into Super Saiyan 3.
One day, as Son Goku trained as usual, he suddenly sensed two exceptionally evil auras that would arrive on Earth in a little over ten minutes. He left the Gravity Room to join the others.
Piccolo said to Son Goku, "Son, you sensed them too, didn't you?"
Son Goku nodded. "Those two auras are pretty strong, roughly twice as strong as Frieza's."
Vegeta rubbed his hands eagerly. "We'll find out once we go take a look. I've been a Super Saiyan for so long, but I've barely had a chance to fight. These two have delivered themselves right to our doorstep. Kakarot, stay out of this. I want to take them on myself."
Son Goku said, "No problem. They're all yours."
Vegeta nodded.
By now, Vegeta's base power level had reached ten million, and transforming into a Super Saiyan could bring it to five hundred million. He had also learned Kaioken from Nappa and could use Hundredfold Kaioken, so he was feeling extremely full of himself going into the fight.
Aside from Son Goku, Piccolo, Son Goshin, and Son Gohin, Vegeta was the strongest among them. Although he had fallen from second place in the original story to fifth, his power level was still higher than Son Goku's had been at this point in the original.
Then Son Goku and the others flew toward the pair's landing site.
Moments later, they arrived where the spaceship had landed.
The hatch opened, and two squads of soldiers emerged first, followed by two figures, one large and one small.
At the sight, Vegeta said, "Frieza? No, Kakarot already killed Frieza. Then who are these two? Judging by their looks, they must be his relatives. Could they be his brother or his father?"
Son Goku gave Vegeta a thumbs-up. "Vegeta, your brain actually works when you're not full of yourself."
Nappa and Raditz covered their mouths, snickering.
Vegeta snapped, "Kakarot, just because I can't beat you doesn't mean you can make fun of me however you like! Are you calling me brainless?"
Struggling to hold back his laughter, Nappa said, "Vegeta, why don't we find out who they are first?"
Vegeta backed down. "You're right, Nappa. Go ask them, then."
Nappa said, "All right, I'll go ask."
He leaped out and approached the pair. "Who are you? What's your relationship with Frieza, and what are you doing on Earth?"
The larger man said, "I am Frieza's father, King Cold. You may address me as King Cold. Beside me is my eldest son, Cooler. You may address him as King Cooler. Who are you? Bring out the Super Saiyan who killed Frieza and have him answer me."
Nappa thought, So that's it. Vegeta guessed right after all. Then he said, "The name's Nappa. Wait here. I'll get the Super Saiyan to come talk to you."
He turned and returned to the others. "Vegeta guessed right. The big one is Frieza's father, King Cold, and the smaller one is Frieza's older brother, Cooler. They've come to Earth to take revenge on Kakarot."
Understanding dawned on everyone. Just then, a machine appeared out of thin air above the two groups.
Son Goku knew Trunks had arrived. He wondered what expression Trunks would make if he learned that Son Goku had married Bulma, then turned to glance at Vegeta.
Inside the Time Machine, Trunks looked at the two groups below and was shocked to spot Son Goku.
Why is Uncle Goku here? Did I come to the wrong timeline? What should I do? Forget it. I'll go down and say hello first, he thought, then piloted the Time Machine down beside the others.
He opened the Time Machine, jumped out, and approached them. "Hello, Mr. Son Goku, Mr. Vegeta, Mr. Piccolo."
Vegeta said, "Who are you? How do you know us?"
Trunks replied awkwardly, "I'm sorry, Mr. Vegeta, but I can't tell you my name."
Then he turned to Son Goku. "Mr. Son Goku, weren't you supposed to return to Earth in another hour or two? Why are you here already?"
Son Goku played dumb. "I've been on Earth all along. More importantly, who are you? Where did you come from, what are you here for, and where are you headed?"
Trunks was about to answer when King Cold shouted, "You over there, stop chatting! Tell me where the Super Saiyan is, and I'll send you all to your graves together. Then you can talk for as long as you like!"
Son Goku said to Trunks, "Let's talk later."
Trunks nodded. "All right, Mr. Son Goku."
Son Goku turned to King Cold and Cooler. "I'm the Super Saiyan you're looking for-Son Goku."
King Cold said, "So you're the one who killed Frieza. Tell me, how do you want to die?"
Son Goku said, "Of old age. Can you help me with that?"
King Cold flew into a rage. "Are you making a fool of me?"
Son Goku said, "That's right, I am. What are you going to do about it?"
Cooler spoke up beside him. "Father, why waste words on him? The sooner we kill him, the sooner we can go home."
King Cold said, "Very well. Attack first and test this Super Saiyan's strength."
"No problem, Father," Cooler said.
