Background / History
Gu Luoxi was raised by Xia Zhiyun and Gu Jingsheng for more than twenty years. Before Gu Luosheng’s return, she was the family’s cherished daughter, with all three older brothers treating her protectively. The discovery of the biological daughter threatens both her position in the household and her claim to being its heiress 2 3 10 12.
In the original novel known to Gu Luosheng, Luoxi rises while the Gu family faces ruin. Luosheng’s foreknowledge identifies her as responsible for framing Gu Yan and helping Shen Zhe torment Luosheng. The original Luosheng is ultimately killed by hanging, while the public believes she died by suicide. Luosheng also remembers Luoxi and Shen Zhe abandoning her on an island and arranging for her to be sexually assaulted. These are remembered or predicted events, distinct from the altered storyline in which Luosheng resists her schemes 1 2 30 38.
Appearance
- Carefully styled celebrity image: Wears elaborate gowns and makeup, and spends time admiring her reflection before meeting fans 13.
- Custom wardrobe: Relies on dedicated designer-made outfits; Fang Fang is identified as her regular designer 22 30.
- Makeup-dependent public presentation: A live makeup-removal challenge disappoints viewers and triggers a major loss of followers. The reaction is presented as audience judgment rather than a neutral description of her features 49.
Personality
Luoxi fears losing the affection, status, and financial security she gained as the Gu family’s daughter. She resents Xia Zhiyun’s growing closeness with Luosheng and secretly hopes her parents will divorce so that Xia can no longer favor her rival. Her concern about exclusion does not prevent her from exploiting the family financially: after paying a 600,000-yuan hotel bill, she claims to have spent a million and eagerly accepts the promise of double repayment 7 12 16 17.
She is vain, competitive, and contemptuous of people whose admiration she publicly welcomes. In private, she calls her waiting fans “simps” and assumes that Ye Nanshen’s hostility must be an attempt to play hard to get. When challenged, her composure can give way to anger, desperate accusations, or demands to stop filming 14 39 40 49.
Abilities & Skills
Emotional Manipulation
Luoxi uses a fragile, apologetic persona to draw reassurance and redirect blame 1 2 10.
- Feigns injury or distress while implying that Luosheng caused it 1 10 18.
- Offers to leave the household to prompt assurances that she still belongs 2 36.
- Presents damaging accusations as concern for her sister or the family’s reputation 2 36 43.
- Uses tears and physical closeness to influence Gu Bai; the system identifies this as part of a plan to secure her position by seducing the brothers 36.
- Her performances become less effective as witnesses, recordings, and Luosheng’s audible thoughts contradict them 7 20 44.
Scheming and Use of Accomplices
Luoxi recruits or exploits others to discredit rivals and conceal her own involvement 9 10 42 45.
- Plants stolen property to frame Luosheng 7.
- Shifts responsibility for a curse doll onto the housekeeper, then pays and threatens her to keep silent 9 10.
- Hires a beggar for a sexual-assault and reputational-ruin plot against Luosheng 42 44.
- Tries to use Wang Chen’s popularity against Luosheng while also plotting to damage Wang Chen’s voice 45.
Performing Arts and Academic Achievements
During her televised introduction, Luoxi claims several qualifications and awards 30.
- Grade 9 piano certificate.
- Dance recognition from the Professional Dance Association.
- Third prize in the National Debate Competition.
- Excellence in character, academics, athletics, and the arts 30.
Her singing is described as ordinary during the livestream contest. She loses decisively when Luosheng performs Wang Chen’s difficult song, “In the Human World,” including its high notes without accompaniment 47 48.
Female-Lead Halo
Luosheng and the system repeatedly identify Luoxi as the original novel’s female lead, protected by a powerful “protagonist halo.” This is a narrative advantage, not a cultivation realm or a demonstrated consciously controlled skill 5 20 50.
- Her influence is associated with Luosheng’s difficulty escaping a scandal-ridden entertainment career 20.
- Luosheng observes that even the major livestream humiliation has not completely brought her down 50.
Relationships
- Gu Luosheng — Adoptive older sister and principal rival. Luoxi repeatedly tries to have her blamed, disgraced, or excluded from the family; Luosheng counters through foreknowledge, evidence, and retaliation 1 7 28 44.
- Xia Zhiyun — Adoptive mother. Initially reassures Luoxi that she will remain family, but becomes suspicious after the ring and curse-doll incidents and increasingly protects Luosheng instead 2 7 9 12.
- Gu Jingsheng — Adoptive father and financial provider. His disappointment becomes anger when Xia tells him about Luoxi’s plot against her; he agrees to keep Luoxi nearby for observation 12 17.
- Gu Yan — Adoptive eldest brother and lawyer. Initially confronts Luosheng on Luoxi’s behalf, but loses confidence in her after Xiao Yun attacks him and she attempts to claim credit for helping 18 19 20.
- Gu Bai — Adoptive second brother and painter. Especially susceptible to her tears and physical affection; he later pulls away after learning about the beggar scheme 36 37 44.
- Gu Chi — Adoptive third brother and surgeon. Defends her supposed poor health and initially explains away evidence that she has discarded his prescribed medicine 3 4.
- Shen Zhe — The original novel’s male lead and her partner in tormenting Luosheng. Their joint cruelty forms part of the fate Luosheng seeks to avoid 30 38.
- Ye Nanshen — Target of her romantic advances. He denies knowing her, rejects her attempt to enter his bed, and helps Luosheng reverse the beggar plot 39 40 42 44.
- Wang Chen — Singer who initially considers her a close friend. After testing the poisoned coffee, Wang Chen turns against her and publicly describes their meetings as work-related rather than personal 45 46.
- Xiao Yun — Former classmate whom she introduces to Gu Yan as a prospective client. His violent behavior exposes the danger of her recommendation 3 4 19 20.
- Housekeeper/Nanny — Accomplice and eventual scapegoat. Luoxi silences her with slaps, a payment, and threats 9 10.
- Fang Fang — Regular designer who also mistreats Luosheng and openly favors “Xixi” 22 23.
Story Role / Major Arcs
The Biological Daughter’s Return
- Failed denial: Luoxi challenges Luosheng’s identity, then adopts a welcoming attitude when the DNA result is verified. Her staged fall fails when Luosheng demonstrates that touching her would have left an ink handprint 1.
- False departure: She claims to have booked a ride to stay with a friend, but Luosheng checks her phone and exposes the claim 2.
- Painting sabotage: She spills fruit onto Gu Bai’s drawing board and accuses Luosheng of tripping her. Luosheng has already covered the painting and remained too far away to cause the fall 5.
- Ring accusation: A pinhole camera records her stealing a ring and planting it in Luosheng’s bag, giving Xia direct evidence of her deception 7.
Household Schemes and the Hotel Trap
- Curse doll: Luosheng’s thoughts identify Luoxi as the organizer of a doll containing Xia’s private birth details. Luoxi blames the housekeeper and slaps her to prevent an explanation 9.
- Attempted marital division: She insinuates that Xia is meeting other men. Xia and Gu Jingsheng turn the accusation into a staged hotel argument and apparent divorce crisis 10 11.
- Financial consequence: Left to settle the supposed damage, Luoxi pays 600,000 yuan. She later inflates the expense to a million when requesting reimbursement 12 16 17.
Fan Meeting and Xiao Yun’s Attack
- Outfit scheme reversed: An ugly outfit intended for Luosheng becomes Luoxi’s replacement after a glued chair tears her rented gown. She then encounters fans she mistakenly believes have been dismissed and is mocked, crowded, and stepped on while trying to escape 11 13 14.
- Loss of parental backing: Her accusations against Luosheng fail to win her parents over. Gu Jingsheng later threatens to withhold her allowance unless she apologizes 16 17.
- Brother’s reassessment: During Xiao Yun’s knife attack, Luoxi retreats to her room while Luosheng returns with pepper spray. Her later claim that she intended to help disappoints Gu Yan 19 20.
- Jaw injury: Xia deliberately trips her, causing a face-first fall and dislocated jaw. Her attempt to shout worsens the injury 20.
Variety Show Rivalry
- Mistaken fan attack: Luosheng redirects hostile fans toward the car behind hers. They mistake Luoxi for their target and pelt her with rotten food, vegetables, and paint 28.
- On-camera competition: Luoxi introduces herself through her qualifications and awards, then clashes with Luosheng over talent, appearance, and what actors owe their audiences 30.
Gu Bai and the Island Outing
- Slander and seduction: After calling Luosheng’s unidentified driver a poor “street punk,” Luoxi seeks comfort from Gu Bai and embraces him. Xia interrupts and confronts her intentions 35 36 37.
- Growing isolation: Prevented from receiving dinner in her room, she later tries to take Duoduo’s chicken drumstick. The wolfdog’s barking exposes her to the household 37 38.
- Rejected advance: On the camping trip, she assumes Ye Nanshen is interested in her, enters his tent, and is thrown out bundled up after attempting to get into his bed 39 40 41 42.
- Beggar plot reversed: Her demand to search Luosheng’s tent finds only an injured kitten. A reciprocal search reveals the hired beggar in Luoxi’s clothes; chat and transfer records expose their connection, while Luosheng’s thoughts reveal the original purpose of the payment 42 43 44.
- Aftermath: Xia orders her to remain outside overnight. Three men subsequently drag her into the bushes despite her protests; by morning, she has left a note saying she returned home unwell 44 45.
Wang Chen and the Livestream Collapse
- Poisoned coffee: Wang Chen hears Luosheng’s warning and refuses the drink. Testing confirms a slow-acting substance capable of damaging vocal cords; Luoxi becomes uneasy when asked to drink it herself 45.
- Singing wager: Luoxi promises to kneel and apologize if Luosheng sings well, while demanding that Luosheng leave the Gu family if she fails. Cutting the accompaniment does not stop Luosheng’s winning performance 47.
- Recorded accountability: The host replays her promise. Unable to afford the viewer payments attached to the contest, she accepts humiliating tasks in exchange for Luosheng covering the cost, beginning with barking while completing ten laps 48.
- Makeup reveal: She tries to make the challenge backfire by demanding that Luosheng also remove her makeup. Instead, Luoxi loses five million followers while Luosheng gains thirty million. She demands the livestream be shut down, but Luosheng still distributes the promised viewer rewards 49.
