Killing a Lord God Emissary

"Part of that soul attack just now consisted of Soul Seeds," Buweit said through gritted teeth.

He had previously found it strange. Sean had cultivated the Death Rule to the extreme, but no matter how powerful he was, he could not possibly split a soul attack into hundreds of attacks against enemies. That would instead risk killing none of them.

He had never expected that most of those attacks were fake, while a small portion contained Soul Seeds. As a result, their clansmen's army had immediately fallen apart. No one would hand their back over to the enemy.

At this moment, another Seven-Star Demon said, "My divine clone has already given the order for all the clansmen's divine clones here to gather in Blood Dragon Valley. Once they assemble, we'll know who has been implanted with Soul Seeds.

"However, some clansmen's divine clones are in cities or elsewhere, so they may not be found quickly."

Most of the Four Divine Beasts Family's Highgods had divine clones. The stronger ones carried out missions outside, while the weaker ones remained in safe locations across the various planes. In the Netherworld, Blood Dragon Valley was their headquarters.

Buweit said, "That's not a problem. Confirm those implanted with Soul Seeds, as well as clansmen without divine clones or those we can't contact for now, and have them all withdraw. As long as it doesn't affect our next siege."

"This peak expert of the Death Rule really is hard to deal with," Tashan said with a frown.

If not for the Four Divine Beasts Family having a large number of clansmen with divine clones gathered together, even with Sovereign's Might on their side, this one move would have broken them.

It would be a lie to say they were not envious of such an ability. In a siege like today's, unless one was a Commander with dual defensive Sovereign Artifacts or a legendary Paragon, anyone trapped would die.

Just then, thin green vines suddenly appeared around the heads of a group of Four Divine Beasts clansmen standing some distance apart, then plunged directly into their heads.

Bang! Bang! Bang! A great number of heads exploded at once.

"The Life Law?" Tashan's expression changed drastically once again.

Among the Four Rules and Seven Laws, the Life Law was no less strange and unpredictable than the Death Rule. One of its techniques allowed one to summon vines from afar out of thin air and massacre others.

Although this attack was far inferior to the attack power of a Life Law expert himself, it was more than enough to deal with ordinary Highgods.

Buweit and the group of Seven-Star and Six-Star Demons around him all changed expression and shouted, "Everyone, retreat! Get as far away as possible!"

At the command, all the clansmen soldiers retreated, moving several kilometers away from Sean.

Both sides stopped attacking. A mass of vines also appeared around Sean, spreading across the ground for over a thousand meters before merging into it.

Tashan, Buweit, and several Seven-Star Demon experts all looked grim. So many of them had besieged Sean, and all possessed Sovereign's Might, yet they had been forced to retreat.

Sean was simply too powerful, and he had a Material Defense Lord God Artifact. To kill him, they could only rely on a large number of experts using Sovereign's Might to unleash their strongest soul attacks.

But now, there might be a small number of people within the army who had been implanted with Soul Seeds. Without knowing who they were, if the army attacked together and suffered another internal slaughter, followed by another counterattack from Sean, they would absolutely collapse. Then there was also that bizarre Life Law.

But if only a few approached, then apart from Tashan, probably no one else could withstand the other party's soul attacks.

"Everyone, let's hold out like this. Once Blood Dragon Valley confirms who has been implanted with Soul Seeds, we'll attack again," Buweit said with an ugly expression.

But as long as they obtained the Offensive Lord God Artifact, it would all be worth it.

What was strange, though, was why Sean had not used that Sovereign Artifact.

Tashan glanced at Buweit, then looked toward the countless vines in the distance and laughed loudly. "Sean, I never expected you to have cultivated the Life Law to such a level as well. Impressive. It looks like you're at least at the level of an ordinary Commander, aren't you?"

To control vines from that distance and kill dozens of ordinary Highgods in an instant was something even ordinary Seven-Star Demons who cultivated the Life Law found difficult to accomplish.

"What? Trying to stall for time until you confirm who I implanted with Soul Seeds?" Sean's voice came from within the vines.

"Haha, you're very clever." Tashan laughed. "But I have a question. Although I wouldn't be surprised if you had previously implanted Soul Seeds in dozens or even hundreds of ordinary Highgods,

they had all used Sovereign's Might. By all logic, your soul should never have been able to withstand it. I'm very curious—how did you do it?"

"How much can you possibly know about the profundities of my Death Rule?" Sean said indifferently. "Enough. The time is about right."

"What?" Tashan, Buweit, and the others were stunned.

Abruptly, the Magic Array outside began to emit an eerie blue-green glow. The temperature of the surrounding space plummeted, while the earth around them radiated a terrifying crushing force.

"Not good! Get out quickly! This Magic Array is trying to trap us underground." Tashan instantly sent a divine-sense message to everyone. "Use Sovereign's Might to resist! No matter how miraculous this Magic Array is, its energy source is still Sovereign's Might. Once it runs out, we win."

"Yes, Lord Tashan." All the God-level experts immediately used all their strength and charged toward the surface.

"It's too late now." Sean's voice rang out. At some point, he had already approached the group of soldiers who had just retreated from him.

"Soul attack." Tashan sent another message. He unleashed his strongest soul attack as well.

Buweit and the dozens of Six-Star and Seven-Star Demons did the same. Yet the frozen ground seemed to have no effect on Sean at all. He easily evaded most of the soul attacks, while the few that struck him did not affect him in the slightest.

The Four Divine Beasts Family's soldiers also discovered Sean approaching and prepared to launch soul attacks. But everyone was guarding against their own people and did not dare use their full strength at all.

Several rippling attacks shot from Sean's eyes. The soldiers struck were basically Four-star, and they died upon contact. Even when some soul attacks hit Sean, they had no effect on him whatsoever.

In the blink of an eye, several hundred people had been killed.

"Sean, I'm your opponent."

In that brief moment, Tashan, the fastest among them, had already drawn close. Before he even arrived, his enormous gravity domain instantly pinned down Sean.

"I've been waiting for you." Sean suddenly turned around, a cold smile appearing on his face.

Tashan froze. Just as he was about to attack with the Sovereign Artifact spear in his hand, he discovered that a large number of Four Divine Beasts clansmen around him had immediately locked onto him with divine sense. Countless soul attacks and Innate Divine Abilities came crashing toward him.

"Not good."

Tashan's expression changed drastically. He then saw sixteen gray throwing knives appear around Sean's body, each one radiating terrifying soul power as they shot toward him.

At the same time, countless vines appeared around him. Combined with the Dragon's Roar Innate Divine Ability and the power of the Magic Array, they bound him in place.

Aah! Tashan roared in fury. An illusory earth-yellow giant bear appeared behind him. As he swung his spear, all the surrounding vines were shattered, but he could not alter Dragon's Roar's effect on time.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Countless soul attacks struck him directly, especially Sean's sixteen throwing knives.

Tashan's body trembled. The light vanished from his eyes, and his body went limp.
