Blood Dragon Valley, Netherworld Netherworld headquarters, used by the family to station Highgods, elders, and divine clones 20 79

  • The family has an enormous population, but only Highgods who enter the family army or display exceptional talent receive significant protection and attention 91.
  • Its members frequently retain Saint Domain true bodies and divine clones in secure locations, making it difficult to eliminate them completely through ordinary combat 5 20.
  • The four clan leaders coordinate through divine sense and defer to the Four Divine Beasts Lord Gods in major crises 91.

Reputation and Conduct

The family is feared as one of the most untouchable forces in the God Planes. Its Azure Dragon Metal Life is so recognizable that ordinary bandits flee rather than approach it 78.

Its power and long-standing oppression created blood feuds with many Asura-level families and independent experts. The Babari Family, for example, accuses the Four Divine Beasts Family of repeatedly hunting members of its special bloodline rather than exterminating the family outright 82 88.

  • The family values status and face highly; it mobilizes heavily against perceived disrespect and is unwilling to retreat publicly even when outmatched 4 78 88.
  • During Sean's first siege, members used suicidal delaying tactics to buy Elder Buweit time to escape 4.
  • Its reputation for arrogance becomes a strategic weakness once hostile clans receive enough Sovereign's Might to challenge it directly 90 96.

Abilities and Resources

Inherited Innate Divine Abilities

Members of the four clans inherit versions of their ancestral divine beasts' innate abilities. Their effectiveness depends on the user's strength and bloodline; ordinary Highgods generally display only their superficial power 4 78.

  • Azure Dragon Clan — Dragon's Roar: Manipulates time 4.
  • White Tiger Clan — Tiger's Roar: Manipulates space 4.
  • Vermilion Bird Clan — Phoenix's Cry: Targets the soul 4.
  • Black Tortoise Clan — Turtle Shield: Provides exceptionally powerful material defense 4.
  • Combined attacks: Azure Dragon, White Tiger, and Vermilion Bird abilities can be layered together by groups of clansmen, though weak users cannot threaten peak experts with them 78.

Sovereign's Might

The family's defining military advantage is its extensive supply of Sovereign's Might.

  • Even ordinary Highgods may wield Sovereign's Might, allowing them to contest far stronger opponents through numbers and coordinated attacks 5 17.
  • A Highgod using Sovereign's Might can reach roughly Six-Star Demon combat power, while a Five-Star expert can display Seven-Star Demon-level strength 17.
  • The force that first besieged Sean included one Seven-Star Demon, twenty-two Six-Star Demons, 103 Five-Star Demons, and more than a thousand Highgods, all supported by Sovereign's Might 6.
  • This advantage is less decisive against Paragons, peak Asuras with Sovereign Artifacts, or enemies supplied with comparable quantities of Sovereign's Might 80 91 96.

Lord God Emissaries

When ordinary clan forces cannot handle an enemy, the family can call upon the emissaries of its four ancestral Lord Gods 5.

  • It deployed multiple Lord God Emissaries against Sean near Nether Mountain 15 38.
  • Sean later defeated seven emissaries and more than forty elders after becoming a Paragon 39.
  • During the family's later crisis, the Four Divine Beasts Lord Gods recruited additional emissaries, though they acknowledged that these reinforcements could not resolve a multi-plane siege alone 91.

Four Divine Beasts' Combined Innate Divine Ability

The family's ancestral Lord Gods possess a far more dangerous combined technique than the inherited abilities available to ordinary clansmen.

  • The Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise can combine their powers to bind space-time and deliver a devastating soul-targeting attack 127 129.
  • The technique once killed a Law Sovereign in ancient times and is regarded as the Four Divine Beasts' ultimate life-saving move 129.
  • It can be used twice in succession, but doing so leaves a very long recovery period before it can be activated again 129 133.
  • Its users are hindered by low speed and limited material offensive power; all four were Low Lord Gods 129 130.

History

Conflict with Sean

Elder Buweit led a massive force against Sean after pursuing Nasser and a suspected Sovereign Artifact. The siege failed catastrophically: Sean slaughtered nearly the entire force, planted Soul Seeds in survivors, and seized sixty-seven drops of Sovereign's Might from captives and corpses 5 6.

Buweit concealed the artifact-related motive from Patriarch Gaisreisen, claiming instead that Sean had killed his friend and insulted the family. He exploited the wording of a Supreme God's oath to make this partial account appear truthful 6 42.

The family issued a pursuit order for Sean, offering ten drops of Sovereign's Might for information about his whereabouts. It also prepared to involve its Lord God Emissaries against him 6.

Public Humiliation and Forced Settlement

After Sean became a Paragon and an emissary of the Death Sovereign, the family again attempted to surround and capture him near Nether Mountain 15 37. Sean killed several Lord God Emissaries, incapacitated elders with Soul Attacks, and forced the family to seek help from the Four Divine Beasts Lord Gods 38 39.

At the ensuing Lord God confrontation, Buweit was subjected to Soul Bewilderment by the Death Sovereign. The procedure exposed that he had concealed critical information from his ancestors, causing the Four Divine Beasts to lose face before other Lord Gods 42.

The family admitted wrongdoing and took Buweit away. Sean spared the surviving members involved in the conflict, but left Soul Poison within their souls as a warning 43.

Retaliation Across the God Planes

Sean later used surviving participants and divine clones from the original siege as targets for a covert retaliation campaign. Through Soul-Seeded agents and the Nether Serpent Family, he arranged ambushes against Four Divine Beasts Family convoys and lured experts out of protected territories 71 77 78.

The family responded by preparing to destroy the Nether Serpent Family, but the conflict expanded when the Babari Family joined the struggle in the Water Element God Plane 82 88. The Babari Family's hatred stemmed from the Four Divine Beasts Family's historical persecution of its bloodline 82 90.

As multiple hostile clans received Sovereign's Might from unknown backers, the family came under simultaneous attack throughout the God Planes. Its leaders sought a Paragon's assistance, but at least six Paragons refused to intervene 91 96.

Death of the Four Divine Beasts and Retreat

The Four Divine Beasts accepted Inas's challenge for a Water Element high-level Lord Godhead. Sean subsequently joined the battle, endured their Combined Innate Divine Ability, and killed all four ancestral Lord Gods 130 131.

The family initially did not know its backers had fallen. Gaisreisen and the other clan leaders realized the truth only after their parchment summons failed to bring forth any of the Four Divine Beasts 133.

The family recalled its elites from across the planes to the Heavenly Sacrifice Mountain Range, ordered members elsewhere to keep a low profile, and began constructing a large-scale defensive magic array 133.

After the Sovereigns confirmed the Four Divine Beasts' deaths, more than a dozen powerful families launched a full war of extermination. A mysterious Paragon known as Mr. Pa imposed a truce: the Four Divine Beasts Family could remain inside the Heavenly Sacrifice Mountain Range, while combat outside remained unrestricted 136.

Legacy of the Four Divine Beasts

Sean collected the Four Divine Beasts' Sovereign Sparks and bodies after killing them. He later extracted 300 drops of Four Divine Beasts Blood Essence from their corpses 131 132.

  • The Blood Essence is essential to researching or reproducing the Four Divine Beasts' Combined Innate Divine Ability 136.
  • The Destruction Sovereign, Utred, sought the Blood Essence specifically to study the technique and increase his own strength 136.
  • Sean used Space-Time Chaos to bypass soul differences and employ the Four Divine Beasts' ultimate technique, demonstrating the continuing value of their bloodline after their deaths 138.
