Black Shadow was dumbfounded. His Demon Venerable couldn't even recognize the woman he loved?
Could that even be called love?
"Demon Venerable, this is Ling Xian."
Feng Moyuan's face darkened, danger flickering in his violet eyes. "Why did you bring her back?"
Black Shadow was filled with regret. Under the stare of those dark violet eyes, a chill crept down his spine. That was murderous intent!
Boo-hoo, I should never have meddled!
Black Shadow finally realized he had misunderstood him. "Demon Venerable, I thought this was the woman you admired, so I took it upon myself to abduct her. How about I toss her back to the Cultivation Sect?"
The murderous intent in Feng Moyuan's eyes intensified, and force began gathering in his palm.
If he had abducted the wrong person, he could simply kill her. There was no need to send her back.
Just as Feng Moyuan was about to strike, he remembered what Su Ying had said to the system.
This Ling Xian was the Female Lead?
If the Female Lead died, would the entire plot start over?
Then would he still remember Su Ying?
Thinking of those dishes, perfect in color, aroma, and flavor, Feng Moyuan dissipated the force in his palm. He narrowed his eyes and was about to tell Black Shadow to dump her at the foot of the Cultivation Sect's mountain when he recalled something else Su Ying had said.
At this point in the plot, he was supposed to abduct Ling Xian.
Forget it.
Feng Moyuan headed out of the hall.
Black Shadow looked at Ling Xian lying on the floor. She was a beauty, but his Demon Venerable didn't like her, so there was nothing to be done. "Demon Venerable, what should we do with this Cultivation Sect disciple?"
"Make her a maid." Feng Moyuan left without looking back.
Black Shadow breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, the Demon Venerable hadn't punished him.
He simply picked Ling Xian up and headed toward the maids' quarters.
Feng Moyuan entered the side hall beside the Slaughter Hall, splitting the door open with a blast from his palm.
The maid inside trembled. Adoration mingled with fear in her eyes as she bowed. "Demon Venerable."
"Has she woken up?" Feng Moyuan asked.
"Miss Su Ying hasn't woken up yet." The maid lowered her eyes, resentment simmering in her heart.
She couldn't understand why her Demon Venerable cared so much about a disciple of the Cultivation Sect.
Hadn't this disciple barged into the Demon Venerable's barrier, causing his breakthrough to fail and even costing him some of his cultivation?
Why was the Demon Venerable treating her so well?
Besides, the Demon Realm and the Cultivation Sect were enemies!
Not just the Cultivation Sect-all those so-called righteous sects were enemies of the Demon Realm!
The maid understood even less.
She even wanted to torture Su Ying.
But without orders from Feng Moyuan, she didn't dare act on her own.
"Get out." Annoyed by the maid's adoring gaze, Feng Moyuan dismissed her outright.
"Yes, Demon Venerable." The maid reluctantly withdrew.
Feng Moyuan stood beside the bed, looking at the still-unconscious Su Ying. A dangerous gleam flashed through his violet eyes.
He knew the system inside Su Ying could see him, so he was doing this deliberately.
After a moment's thought, Feng Moyuan drew the Dragon Roar Sword and moved it over Su Ying's face, as though considering how to exact justice for himself.
The gesture frightened the system into trembling.
Although Su Ying's life or death made little difference to a system like it-the worst outcome would be a failed mission, and none of the physical pain Su Ying suffered would affect it-it was still scared...
[Host, Host, please wake up!]
Su Ying showed no response to the system's calls.
[Host, if you don't wake up, you'll be disfigured at best, and your mission will fail at worst!]
The system kept shouting. It was baffled, too. Since Su Ying had been brought to the Demon Realm, the mission should already have failed, yet it still hadn't received a mission-failure notification from the Main System.
It could only grit its teeth and wait to see what happened next.
Su Ying smacked her lips, but showed no intention of waking.
Feng Moyuan raised an eyebrow. So she had gone from unconscious to asleep?
Listening to the system, he lightly drew the Dragon Roar Sword across her lips.
There was no blood, not even a break in the skin, but waves of cold rose from the Dragon Roar Sword, gradually filling the side hall.
The system couldn't feel anything, but it could detect danger, and its voice grew even more frantic.
[Oh, my dear Host, please wake up! The big bad demon is going to kill you!]
"What big bad demon..." Su Ying smacked her lips and stretched with her eyes closed. What a wonderfully comfortable sleep.
[Host!]
The system was speechless.
It also felt its host might be beyond saving now.
Su Ying sensed something was wrong and felt the cold, finally deigning to open her eyes.
The first thing she saw was a devilishly handsome face.
"Who are you?" Only after the words left her mouth did Su Ying realize she had asked an incredibly stupid question.
This was Feng Moyuan!
The most important Male Supporting Character in the novel!
Why was he here?
[Oh my god, why is the big bad demon here?!] Su Ying asked the system in her mind.
Speechless, the system explained to her.
[Host, the big bad demon abducted you and brought you back to the Demon Realm.]
[That's not right. Why would he abduct me? Did he grab the wrong person?] Su Ying was baffled. She had changed positions twice amid the chaos, and the big bad demon had been fighting Xiao Muchen. How could he still have known it was her?
Besides, wasn't he supposed to abduct Ling Xian in the original plot?
[I don't know either. The Main System hasn't issued a bug notification or told you your mission has failed. Host, you'll have to pray for your own survival.]
the system said.
Su Ying glanced down slightly. The Dragon Roar Sword's gleaming blade was fully exposed, its chill oppressive...
So scary...
She shuddered.
"Um, Lord Demon Venerable." Looking at Feng Moyuan's icy expression, Su Ying couldn't help remembering all his brutal, obsessively possessive, bloodthirsty acts in the novel.
She shuddered again.
[This is so scary. Am I going to be tortured to death by this villain? He drains people's blood to brew wine and grinds their bones into cauldrons! Even if dying only means failing the mission, I don't want to die like that. It would be far too awful!] Su Ying even imagined that she wouldn't be transported back immediately after dying, but would linger here for quite some time.
She would have to watch him drain her blood to brew wine and grind down her bones. The thought sent a sickening chill through Su Ying.
Feng Moyuan raised an eyebrow.
Drain blood to brew wine? Grind bones into cauldrons?
Those were indeed things he would do.
But he only did such things to people who were of no use to him and had offended him.
For someone like Su Ying, who had offended him and committed a monstrous wrong but could make amends with delicious food, he would consider sparing her life for now.
Still, that didn't mean he would spare her forever.
The day he grew tired of Su Ying's cooking would be the day she died.
Feng Moyuan lightly rubbed his sword against her lips.
The friction brought a faint flush to her soft pink lips. They looked rather pretty...
Like some sort of crystal, they tempted him to lean in and take a bite. "What is it?"
"Could you move the sword away? It's hard for me to talk like this." Even lying down, Su Ying raised both hands beside her head in surrender.
She believed that gesture ought to be universal, regardless of time or space.
Feng Moyuan frowned.
