Chu Mo opened his mouth, then sighed. "Your Divine Ability is extraordinary, fellow Daoist."
Yichu explained calmly, "The Dao Path I cultivate is the original Great Dao of the Harmony Truth Lineage. Had I not fallen short by a hair back then, I would have been the one to take charge of the Root Origins of [True] and [False]."
At this point, a hint of wistfulness entered his voice.
The person who had taken charge of those Root Origins had later died unexpectedly, while he himself remained safe and sound to this day.
"A hair's breadth of difference led to a thousand miles of error. This Dao was not destined for me."
Yichu said no more on the subject. His gaze returned to the small cauldron, and his fingertips gently stroked its body as he sensed the aura of Unceasing Mystique within. He asked:
"You gave me this because you want to make counterfeits and sell them to the Great Evolution Dao Sect?"
Chu Mo nodded. "Exactly. This cauldron offers a steady trickle, but one a day is still too slow. Why not replicate it and make a few more to exchange for Spirit Matter? We could split the proceeds. Wouldn't that be lovely?"
"Haha, a fine idea. Great Evolution is wealthy enough that we'll never lack for business. Besides..."
A sly gleam flashed through Yichu's eyes. "Besides, since we're going to swindle... sell anyway, why not make this a bigger venture?"
Chu Mo's gaze stirred. "What do you mean, fellow Daoist?"
"Wait a moment. I'll introduce you to someone." Yichu waved a hand, sending a streak of light from his fingertips into the Void. Before long, faint footsteps sounded outside the hall.
The newcomer wore plain robes, his figure straight as a pine and his face like polished jade.
