|---|---|---|
| Awakening — level-three innate soul power | 1 | Su Mo awakens the Gashapon Machine; Su Yuntao identifies it as a possible mutated tool martial soul. |

| Rank fifteen | 18 | Confirmed during testing at Spirit Hall. Su Mo suspects the thousand-year ring contributed to the increase, but its exact contribution is not established. |
Background / History
Su Mo awakens the machine in Emperor Soul Village, where other children ridicule its toy-like appearance. Su Yuntao nevertheless tests his soul power and encourages him to cultivate. Having worked as a gacha-game designer in his previous life, Su Mo immediately recognizes the machine’s form 1.
Yu Xiaogang later examines it at Nuoding City Junior Soul Master Academy. After hearing that it dispenses capsules and that Su Mo began with rank-three innate soul power, he dismisses it as a toy without development potential. He subsequently rejects the report that it produced a thousand-year soul ring 3 17.
Before obtaining his first ring, Su Mo does not know which soul beast would suit the machine and considers settling for any hundred-year ring. Xiao Wu’s eventual draw removes the need to kill a beast for his first ring. Their forest trip also provides a plausible explanation for obtaining it, helping conceal its actual source 6 11 13.
After successfully drawing the soul-ring card, Xiao Wu persuades Su Mo to let her handle future coin draws. Her next documented draw produces a protective ring, which Su Mo gives her 16 20.
Appearance
- A handheld machine resembling the gashapon machines familiar to Su Mo from his previous life 1.
- A glass dome containing colorful capsules, with a coin slot and dispensing opening below it 1.
- A faint, blurry image is visible while the second Gacha Coin is forming 5.
- After receiving its first soul ring, a purple pattern appears beneath the coin slot and flashes when Fate Gacha activates 11.
Abilities & Skills
Coin-Based Prize Draws
The machine condenses Gacha Coins that can be inserted to obtain random rewards 1 11.
- Operation: Inserting a coin makes the capsules tumble until one rolls out through the dispensing opening 1 20.
- Formation time: Su Mo estimates that the previous coin took about a week to form and expects the next to take a similar period; no fixed interval is confirmed 16.
- Other operators: Xiao Wu successfully makes draws with Su Mo’s coins, establishing that operation is not restricted to the owner 11 20.
- Opening behavior: The first golden capsule opens automatically and sends its reward into Su Mo. Xiao Wu manually opens the purple capsule containing the soul-ring card 1 11.
- Reward information: Handling the Eye of Thunder reward and soul-ring card conveys information directly to Su Mo 1 11.
Fate Gacha
The machine’s first soul skill dispenses random skill capsules, rather than the prizes obtained through coin draws 11 16.
| Mechanic | Documented Rule |
|---|---|
| Cost | Three initial draws consume about one-tenth of Su Mo’s soul power. He estimates roughly thirty draws from his current reserves, before accounting for recovery effects 12. |
| Cooldown | Three seconds between draws 12. |
| Selection | Results are random; Su Mo cannot reliably obtain a desired skill 12. |
| Known pool | More than thirty test draws reveal eighteen distinct skills, with duplicates. The full pool is not confirmed 12. |
| Categories | Attack, enhancement, domain, defense, recovery, and control 12. |
| Duration | Attack skills and several recovery skills are instantaneous. Other effects generally last a few seconds to a little over ten seconds 12. |
| Same-category effects | Cannot stack. A later effect overwrites the earlier one, unless its duration is shorter than the earlier effect’s remaining duration, in which case it does not take effect 12. |
| Different-category effects | Can coexist 12. |
Documented Skill Results
| Skill | Category / Capsule | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Light of Judgment | Attack; red capsule | A purely offensive attack at triple power 11. |
| Fate Amplification | Enhancement; golden capsule | Boosts strength, speed, defense, soul-power potency, and soul-power recovery. Xiao Wu estimates a ninety-percent all-stat increase lasting about fifteen seconds 11 12. |
| Unnamed speed domain | Domain; purple capsule | Covers a ten-meter radius, slowing enemies while increasing allies’ speed 11. |
| Thunderous Might | Attack; red capsule | A wide-area lightning strike that overwhelms and temporarily paralyzes Xiao Chenyu’s group. Su Mo identifies it as the only large-scale group attack in his known pool at that time 14. |
Combat Limitations
- Before acquiring its first soul ring, the machine has no offensive power of its own; Su Mo relies on the separately obtained Eye of Thunder for lightning attacks 2 6.
- Fate Gacha provides offensive, defensive, control, and support options, but its randomness prevents Su Mo from guaranteeing a particular combat role or combination 11 12 14.
- Repeated amplification draws could theoretically sustain soul-power recovery, but Su Mo recognizes that consistently drawing the required result is not realistic 12.
Documented Prizes
| Draw | Operator | Capsule | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| First | Su Mo | Golden | Eye of Thunder: a god-level martial soul that changes his left pupil to silver-white with lightning and grants electrical abilities 1. |
| Second | Xiao Wu | Purple | Thousand-Year Soul Ring Card: grants a thousand-year soul ring while ignoring level requirements and causing no side effects. Su Mo absorbs it safely 11. |
| Third documented | Xiao Wu | Cyan | Silver lightning-patterned ring: can automatically release a lightning strike in danger and conceal the wearer’s aura. Su Mo gives it to Xiao Wu 20. |
- The protective ring’s ability to hide Xiao Wu’s soul-beast identity from a Titled Douluo remains unverified; Su Mo specifically questions whether it could fool Tang Hao 21.
- Xiao Wu’s successful operation of the machine initially leaves Su Mo uncertain whether other people can also use every kind of reward it produces 11.
