By the time everyone returned to the living room, Ning Ke and Lou Yunxiao had already come out of the guest room.
Ning Ke had taken a cold shower. His hair was still dripping, but he hadn't bothered to dry it.
He left the droplets there to cool his burning face.
Afraid he would catch a cold in the air-conditioned room, Lou Yunxiao followed behind him, drying his hair.
When he looked up, he met everyone's eyes, including those of a dumbstruck Ning Xiao.
"Xiao Xiao!" Ning Ke greeted her, then noticed the familiar figure standing beside her.
He hurried over and hugged the dazed Ning Xiaoxiao.
"Xiao Xiao, sorry for the wait."
Ning Xiaoxiao pressed her lips together. "It wasn't long. Not long at all. As long as I get to see you, no wait is too long."
Ning Ke let her go, looking at Ning Xiao on his left and Ning Xiaoxiao on his right.
Resting his large hands on their heads, he smiled. "Xiao Xiao, why do I feel like you're a little shorter than Xiaoxiao?"
"?! Am I??"
Ning Xiao cared a lot about her height.
At Ning Ke's remark, she used her fingers to measure Ning Xiaoxiao's forehead, then her own.
Sure enough, she was a tiny bit shorter!
"Why am I shorter?" Ning Xiao had always been confident in her height of 170 centimeters. Now that Ning Xiaoxiao had her beat, she wailed, "It must be because I was malnourished as a kid!"
She hugged Ning Xiaoxiao and rubbed against her. "Xiaoxiao, let me absorb some of your tallness! Girls can still grow at twenty-three, and I'm not twenty-three yet. I still have a chance!"
Ning Xiaoxiao's cheeks grew redder under all that rubbing.
But she couldn't quite bring herself to push her away.
