Ning Ke felt as though he had merely slept.
It seemed like a long time, yet also very short.
Before his death, every function of his body had dwindled to nothing. Even breathing had sounded like working a bellows.
Now, however, he felt full of energy and wonderfully comfortable.
It was like the rain had stopped, the skies had cleared, and he was back in business.
Except... damn it, wasn't it a little cold?!
His eyes snapped open. Shaking like a sieve, Ning Ke discovered that he was indeed lying inside an enormous Ice Coffin. Cold surrounded him from every direction, making his teeth chatter.
Ning the fox immediately scratched at the coffin lid with his paws and howled for Lou Yunxiao.
He had only called twice before Lou Yunxiao appeared out of thin air and pulled the lid open.
Ning Ke promptly hooked his arms around his neck and burrowed into his embrace with little whimpers.
After all these years, he had long since grown used to acting spoiled around Lou Yunxiao.
After all, with someone willing to indulge him, why wouldn't he?
"Are you cold?" Lou Yunxiao summoned flames beside him to keep him warm.
Cradling the young man curled up in his arms, he lifted him out of the coffin.
"Mm." Ning Ke automatically found a comfortable spot in Lou Yunxiao's arms and nestled there lazily. "How long was I asleep?"
"Half a month." Lou Yunxiao held him close, reluctant to let go.
His voice was low and hoarse. "I thought you might never wake up."
"Don't jinx me."
Ning Ke jabbed him, then conjured a Water Mirror.
It reflected his current face.
He couldn't hold back a startled cry of "Holy shit!"
Lou Yunxiao immediately asked anxiously, "What's wrong? A Ke, are you feeling unwell?"
But
