Nuoding Academy
Xiao Wu enters Dorm Seven and eagerly accepts its rule that newcomers must spar with the boss. She attacks Lin Yang while he is lying on a bed, overwhelms him with a rapid sequence of kicks and throws, and claims leadership after defeating him 2 3.
Teacher Mo assigns Xiao Wu, Tang San, and Lin Yang to clean the garden south of the sports field for ten Copper Soul Coins a day. Lacking suitable bedding, she proposes pushing their beds together to share Tang San’s large quilt. When the boys leave to obtain their first soul rings, she accepts Tang San’s offer to compensate her for handling their chores, despite Lin Yang refusing to join his promise 3.
By their return, Xiao Wu has also become a Soul Master. She accompanies them to the Spirit Hall for assessment, remaining unusually quiet until Lin Yang reminds Master Li that she has been overlooked. Afterward, she celebrates receiving a Gold Soul Coin but openly expresses her discomfort with the Spirit Hall 6 7 8.
Graduation and Shrek Admission
Six years later, Xiao Wu graduates alongside Tang San and Lin Yang as a twelve-year-old Soul Grandmaster. She initially mocks Shrek Academy’s name, but chooses to accompany them rather than remain alone or consider the Spirit Hall. At the entrance, she displays two yellow soul rings and later qualifies to bypass the intermediate tests 9 10 11.
During Zhao Wuji’s final trial, Xiao Wu supports Lin Yang’s frontal attacks. Their individual blows cannot overcome Zhao’s defenses, but she helps Tang San and Lin Yang execute a coordinated throw that drives him headfirst into the ground. Zhao’s subsequent golden shock wave injures her and knocks her unconscious. Lin Yang catches her, and Ning Rongrong looks after her while the boys undertake a renewed trial that secures admission for all five candidates 12 13 14 16.
Xiao Wu is back with the students at breakfast the following morning. When Lin Yang later challenges Flender’s training philosophy, she backs him and declares that they can leave the academy together if necessary 18 19.
