Background / History

Xiao Chen traveled toward Mount Kunlun while being pursued by Royal Heavenly Maiden Zhao Lin'er and other cultivators. Injured and unwilling to endanger civilians, he briefly sheltered in a temple on Black Mountain before leaving alone at dawn. There he met Bai He, whose kindness left a favorable impression despite Xiao Chen's initial caution 5 6.

Bai He persistently asked to become his disciple. Xiao Chen initially refused, considering himself insufficiently strong and warning that his pursuers would endanger Bai He, but agreed to recognize him formally if they met again at Kunlun. Both subsequently entered the void opened by Lan Nuo and arrived in the Realm of Longevity 7.

On Dragon Island, Xiao Chen formally accepted Bai He as his disciple, supplied him with food and water, and taught him the Heavenly Tablet Mystic Skill for self-defense. He also trained Bai He in the Heavenly Gifted Qi Refining diagrams from the Yellow River Heavenly Tablet 8 9.

After confronting hostile arrivals on the island, Xiao Chen and Bai He were drawn into conflict with Liu Yue, Wang Zifeng, and Lu Jun. Xiao Chen used the Heaven Binding Net to ambush and severely injure Wang Zifeng, then escaped into the forest with Bai He after Lu Jun was killed 14 16.

Separated from Bai He for a time, Xiao Chen searched for him along the coast after killing Wang Zifeng and Liu Yue. The master and disciple eventually reunited through Monk Yi Zhen, with Xiao Chen arriving alongside his three snow-white skeleton companions 41 42.

Xiao Chen later fought beside Bai He against Dragon Island's competing factions. During the Revenge Alliance conflict, he confronted and killed its leader, Gu Luo, ending their personal grievance 57 59. He subsequently led their group into dangerous territory around the Dragon Race Holy Mountain, stole Dragon Eggs with Bai He and their companions, and defended their refuge in the Snow Mountains against hundreds of cultivators 62 64 66 67.

Much later, Xiao Chen integrated the Eight-Armed Evil Dragon Soul and traveled to Chao Ge with Bai He, Leng, and Liang Bing. He identified the Hidden Gods Faction's Luo Tian Grand Ritual as an attempt to summon God Race powerhouses, entrusted Liang Bing with destroying the altar, and set course for the Realm of Immortality after the ritual was stopped 386.

Appearance

Xiao Chen is a handsome, black-clad young man with long dark hair and sharply defined features. In battle, his appearance becomes increasingly imposing through divine light, bloodstained clothing, and the radiance of his Deified Acupoints 6 67.

Personality

Xiao Chen is stern, determined, and highly protective of those around him. While injured and pursued, he chose to leave the temple alone rather than expose its inhabitants to danger 6. He similarly protects Bai He during confrontations, though he respects his disciple's growing strength and independence 14 44.

He is decisive and merciless against enemies. He quickly exploited Wang Zifeng's vulnerability with the Heaven Binding Net, fought without restraint during the Snow Mountain siege, and personally ended Gu Luo's life after the Revenge Alliance was defeated 16 59 67.

Despite his severity in battle, Xiao Chen is patient as a teacher and capable of humor. He carefully demonstrated cultivation postures and breathing methods to Bai He, supplied him with necessities after their arrival on Dragon Island, and later teased him about the attention drawn by his Dragon Race bloodline 8 9 57.

His curiosity can override caution. Bai He warned him against investigating the Dragon Race Holy Mountain, but Xiao Chen remained determined to uncover its mystery 62.
