Ch. 541Extra: A world turned upside down

Evan crash-landed in the Warp’s barren Northern Lands, where he learned that his powerful soul could recover by consuming other souls and considered building an army from daemons. A Mourning Bell summoned the region’s farmers to defend a fortified town, where Evan spotted Khorne’s warriors and heard a Waaagh approaching.

  • Zhuge Tzeentch and the other ministers discussed a fallen star in the Northern Lands, and the Saint of Khorne agreed to send disciples to retrieve it while the ministers prepared for war.
  • Evan fell into the Northern Lands in soul form, was rescued by a starving farmer, and discovered that his human hands had returned.
  • Evan realized his soul retained a high rank and recovered some strength by eating souls, then resolved to recruit daemons and wage war against the dark gods.
  • The Mourning Bell compelled the farmer and other laborers to assemble at a fortified town, and the farmer told Evan that they would be forced to fight and might be eaten if supplies ran out.
  • Evan saw Khorne’s warriors on the town walls as a loud Waaagh rose behind him.

Ch. 542Extra: Stay calm! Think what the Blood Ravens would do.

Evan infiltrated the Nurgle army’s city to find Warp treasures that could restore his strength, discovering that the army brewed them in liquor. He prepared to break into a locked cabinet as the Orks attacked, hoping the battle would cover the noise.

  • Evan entered the city with the farmers and learned that its weapons were empowered by the Warp despite their mismatched designs.
  • Evan joined the supply porters and identified the city’s treasury and the army’s largest, best-fed daemons as likely sources of valuable treasures.
  • A Nurgle Military Supervisor summoned Evan, but he escaped scrutiny by causing a disturbance and later slipped into the city lord’s residence during an Ork assault.
  • Evan hid from Nurgle daemons drawn to a bottle of potent liquor and found an underground cellar where Warp treasures were steeped in alcohol.
  • Evan spotted unsteeped treasures in a locked wooden cabinet, took a crowbar, and waited for an Ork explosion to conceal the sound of breaking it open.

Ch. 543Side story: It's going to blow!!!

Evan disguised himself as an Ork and sabotaged the Daemons’ defenses, using explosive shells and an accidental psychic blast to help the Orks break through. He then blew up the city’s Wine Cellar, provoking Nurgle’s forces into a furious counterattack as he flew above the city.

  • Evan sneaked out of the Daemons’ headquarters in search of their treasure while struggling with the effects of eating too many strange items.
  • Evan ambushed Orks for their Power Armor, disguised himself, and attacked the Nurgle artillery line with shells, weakening Khorne’s defenses.
  • Evan’s stomach-triggered psychic explosion destroyed the cannons and blasted him into the sky as the Orks surged through the breach.
  • Evan returned to the Wine Cellar, deceived the guards with fake bombs, and charged into the Command Room with real explosives.
  • The Wine Cellar exploded and launched Evan into the air, while Nurgle’s warriors flew into a rage over the destruction of their booze stores.

Ch. 544Side story: Dinner time

Evan fought his way through the Ork air force, eating Orks and turning their aircraft into weapons against the Daemons. He joined a chain of linked planes and prepared to face the gathered Big Bosses as more Orks began dropping machines onto the Daemons below.

  • Evan boarded an Ork fighter, forced a bottle of corrupted liquor down its captain's throat, and took control of the plane.
  • Evan swung between aircraft, killing and eating Orks until the Sky Boss gathered the aerial forces and ordered them to war.
  • Evan spotted the approaching Ork fleet and flew toward a platform made from linked planes, using a missile-like craft to reach it.
  • Evan threw the craft down at the Daemons, prompting nearby Orks to copy him by hurling smoking machines from the platform.
  • Evan faced the surrounding Orks and announced that it was dinner time again.

Ch. 545Not qualified

Evan tore through the Orks with a faith-powered body, then confronted Sky Boss and his forces aboard the collapsing fleet. He overwhelmed the Ork warlord’s Waaagh-powered army with crimson Warp projections, leaving the Orks’ challenge to humanity broken.

  • Evan killed a Big Boss and defeated another by biting through his skull, drawing strength from the Ork flesh he consumed.
  • Evan abandoned his ruined armour and returned to his swift, blood-red fighting form as Sky Boss teleported onto the failing fleet.
  • Evan dismissed Sky Boss’s boasts and confronted him as the Ork warlord declared himself the strongest boss.
  • Worldbreaker Boss unleashed a storm of Waaagh lightning, but Evan’s crimson projections attacked his Bodyguard regiment and killed them.
  • Worldbreaker Boss was overwhelmed by the dying warriors’ memories and resolve as Evan’s crimson ocean swept across the flying vessels.

Ch. 546Gork and Mork! Look, someone's trying to steal your boy!

Evan used Warp Essence to build an army of red phantoms and fought the Ork Warboss aboard his ship, ultimately returning to physical form and leaving the Warboss poisoned by Grandfather’s Wine. As Gork, Mork, and the Iron Grandfather turned their attention toward the battlefield, the outcome remained uncertain.

  • Evan formed waves of red phantom warriors, while the Ork Warboss fought them and rallied his crew with his war song.
  • Evan reshaped the phantoms into an armored army inspired by Rogal Dorn, whose synchronized attacks wounded the Warboss.
  • The Warboss broke Evan’s phantoms and struck the ship’s deck, but Evan’s fighters kept attacking and the Warboss narrowly escaped their blades.
  • The Warboss unleashed his Thunder Hammer, and Evan’s red world receded as he returned to physical form and introduced himself as the new Primarch.
  • Evan walked away after revealing that the Warboss had drunk Grandfather’s Wine, which began boiling inside him.
  • Gork and Mork raged at the threat to their chosen Warboss as the Iron Grandfather turned his attention toward the battlefield.

Ch. 547Extra: What's your name?

Evan seized control of Ork warships and negotiated with a Blood Axes boss to travel to Mork’s Grin, the Orks’ name for the Eye of Terror, where he could fight stronger enemies. The chapter ended with Evan introducing himself as the Great Mushroom King.

  • Evan boarded the Big Iron Head, defeated its captain, and claimed command, but the Boyz attacked him and he devoured them.
  • Evan stormed another ship’s engine room, killed its Big Mek, and forced the surviving Orks to work for him.
  • After fighting across several ships, Evan found a Blood Axes captain and demanded daily duels against thirty strong Orks, eating those he defeated.
  • Evan persuaded the Blood Axes to take him to Mork’s Grin, and the Ork boss asked him his name.
  • Evan told the boss to call him the Great Mushroom King.

Ch. 548A newcomer in the Eye of Terror

Evan and the Orks landed on a Forge World ruled by a corrupted Knight House, where the Orks clashed with its rapid-response force. When the Orks’ kaptin boss came under threat, Evan joined the battle and overwhelmed a Chaos Knight; the fight was still underway as he struck at its pilot.

  • Evan’s Orks emerged from the Warp and landed on a Forge World controlled by a fallen Knight House.
  • Three Chaos Knights and eight Armigers attacked the Orks, using fire and psychic slime to weaken their charge.
  • The kaptin boss bombed an Armiger, but the Knight House took control of it and the central Knight blasted the Orks’ Mekboy convoy.
  • Evan saw that the kaptin boss was in danger and led several Ork clans into battle.
  • Evan raced through the flames, destroyed the psychic slime, and disabled the Knight on the right with crimson psyker power.
  • Evan raised his claw over the Knight’s pilot, intent on cleaving through the Chaos flesh.

Ch. 549War escalates

Evan helped the Orks defeat the traitor machines, then spent months enduring their growing Waaagh and constant challenges. He emerged from the Great Mushroom King Gladiator Arena to discover the Orks had gathered on the head of a Gargant, surrounded by aircraft and ready for what came next.

  • Evan and Boss Captain destroyed the bone-covered Mek and its Armiger, while a Knight pilot fled; a secondary explosion devastated the Orks and left a few witnesses convinced they had seen a humie god.
  • Evan returned to the Orks’ Landing Pod and ordered new armor as the Mekboyz repaired his and Boss Captain’s suits; Boss Captain planned to build a fleet and eventually abandon Evan on a barren planet.
  • The Orks’ war expanded as Gorkanauts and Mork Dreadnoughts fought the traitors, while Dark Mechanicum Skitarii and a renegade Titan Legion arrived too late to stop the Big Mek’s clan from growing.
  • After enduring the Orks’ daily challenges, Evan left the arena when tremors disturbed him and found a crowd of human slave laborers and drunken Orks.
  • Evan followed an excited Ork through filthy conduits and emerged onto a platform atop a Gargant’s head, where battered Ork aircraft stood amid the shaking deck.

Ch. 550"Get lost, Daemon!"

Evan left his Big Steel Armor behind to teleport into an Imperial Battle Barge, where he discovered his new Daemon form and encountered a Chaplain of the Sons of War. After taking control of the Chaplain’s body, Evan urged him to fight the nearby Word Bearers instead of killing himself.

  • Evan ordered a Weirdboss to teleport him into an Imperial Battle Barge with overloaded Void Shields, and the Weirdboss arrived beside him and sent him there.
  • Evan found himself without his armor, discovered that his body melted into red sludge, and set off to search the ship for psyker power.
  • Evan attacked a Word Bearer and knocked a Daemon out of its Bolter before identifying the warrior fighting nearby as a Chaplain of the Sons of War.
  • Evan disabled the Chaplain’s Power Pack, learned that his Gene-Father was Roboute Guilliman, and knocked the Daemon out of the Chaplain’s Combat Knife.
  • Evan spread his sludge over the Chaplain and empowered his body, but the Chaplain resisted and tried to slit his own throat in Malcador’s name.
  • Evan told the Chaplain that a squad of Word Bearers was advancing nearby and urged him to fight them before dying.

Ch. 551Absolute loyalty

Evan possessed the Chaplain’s Power Armour, freed him from a daemon, and drew him into a battle against its true form. The Chaplain awoke among the dead Word Bearers with a new heart and armour, while Evan explained what he had learned about faith and permanently destroying daemons.

  • Evan outmaneuvered the Word Bearers Terminator, tore off his helmet, and pinned the daemon possessing the Chaplain’s armour to a wall with the Thirteen Short Spears.
  • The Word Bearer fled using his Teleportation Device as Evan absorbed and devoured the pinned daemon, then invited the Chaplain to fight another daemon alongside him.
  • Evan gave the Chaplain a golden Power Sword, and the two fought a Titan-sized daemon amid figures shaped by the Chaplain’s memories.
  • A tentacle pierced the Chaplain’s chest, but red power formed a new heart and armour around him, flooding his mind with Evan’s memories.
  • The Chaplain joined Evan and the charging figures to destroy the daemon, then awoke on the deck among the Word Bearers’ corpses.
  • Evan said absolute loyalty to one god could permanently destroy another god’s daemon, and the Chaplain demanded that Evan leave his body.

Ch. 552Secrets

Evan learned that Malcador had become the Second Emperor in this world and sought a way to reach him, while questioning how Warp gods could be usurped. After identifying the ship’s Chaplain and learning that Malum Caedo led the First Company, Evan agreed to help fight the attackers in exchange for an audience with Malcador.

  • Evan questioned Helian Cross about reaching Malcador and learned that Malcador had inherited the Dark King’s power and ruled from the Golden Throne.
  • Evan considered whether consciousnesses could steal the authority of Warp gods, then restrained Helian Cross and asked who commanded the ship.
  • Helian Cross identified himself as a Sixth Company Chaplain supporting the Fifth Company and named Malum Caedo as the First Company leader.
  • An enemy vessel rammed the Battle Barge, and Helian Cross offered to take Evan to Malcador if he helped repel the attack.
  • Evan told Helian Cross to pray for Malcador and rushed to deal with the attackers.

Ch. 553Bring him here.

Evan possessed Chaplain Helian Cross and slaughtered the World Eaters boarding the Battle Barge, then discovered that the bridge crew had been killed and a false teleportation signal had led Malum Caedo’s group into a trap. As Malum Caedo and the Librarian arrived, a Custodian received the order to bring Evan to Malcador.

  • Evan took control of Helian Cross and used his power to destroy the World Eaters and their Strike Cruiser.
  • Evan forced Helian Cross to contact the bridge and summon Malum Caedo, then rushed toward the bridge after sensing danger.
  • Evan and Helian Cross found the bridge crew dead and discovered that a Psyker Bomb had been planted there as part of a teleportation trap.
  • Malum Caedo, several battle-brothers, and the Chapter Librarian teleported onto the bridge.
  • A Custodian emissary received a dream and a high-security message ordering him to bring Evan to Malcador.

Ch. 554Revenge!

Malum Caedo and the Librarian confronted Helian Cross after mistaking his possession by Evan for corruption, then joined forces with Evan to fight the Word Bearers and other enemies. Their search led them into a trap set by Victor and Sisters of Silence, where Evan attacked Victor with a flying kick.

  • Malum Caedo attacked Helian Cross, but Evan revealed himself and the Chaplain explained that the Word Bearers had trapped them on the bridge.
  • Evan warned the Sons of War about danger in the hangar and offered to fight for them in exchange for help finding a Navigator.
  • The Librarian accepted Evan’s offer, and Evan destroyed three Daemon Engines hidden among ruined aircraft.
  • Evan, Helian Cross, Malum Caedo, and the Librarian boarded an enemy-captured Crimson Fists Strike Cruiser and followed signs of Chaos through the ship.
  • A Gravity Well Trap immobilized Helian Cross while Sisters of Silence suppressed the Librarian, and Victor arrived carrying a Forbidden Object.
  • Evan recognized Victor, split into two legs, and launched a flying kick at his face.

Ch. 555Great, Malcador, here I come~~

Evan fought off Victor and the Sisters of Silence before they sealed Helian Cross inside a stasis coffin. The coffin opened amid a battle between Fabius Bile’s New Men and a Drukhari Kabal, and Evan emerged ready to confront the attackers.

  • Evan used Warp power to fight Victor and evade the Sisters’ attacks, then confirmed that Malcador had ordered them to bring him to the Throne alive.
  • Victor restrained Evan with a magnetic chain, but Evan broke free and headbutted him before suddenly walking toward the coffin.
  • A Sister of Silence shoved the lid into place, sealing Helian Cross inside the coffin’s stasis and Anti-Psyker fields.
  • The coffin was accidentally activated when it hit the ground during a battle between Fabius Bile’s New Men and a Drukhari Kabal.
  • Evan emerged, saw Victor’s battered body, and turned toward the fighting enemies, asking whether they had hit his brother.

Ch. 556Daemonic Markings

Evan devoured Drukhari and an Aeldari soul-trap while fighting Fabius Bile’s forces aboard a Black Ship, then met Malcador at the Imperial Palace. Malcador learned Evan’s memories and offered him a bowl of braised chicken eggs as Evan asked to be sent home.

  • Evan fought Drukhari and Fabius Bile’s Pseudo-Custodians while protecting Victor and the Sisters of Silence aboard the Black Ship.
  • Fabius Bile trapped Evan in a device built from an Infinity Circuit and a Shard of Khaine, but Evan devoured the circuit and drove Bile to flee.
  • Evan returned to Victor and the surviving Sisters of Silence, then entered his coffin after warning them that the incident must not happen again.
  • Custodians brought Evan to the Imperial Palace, where he asked to see Malcador and shared his memories with him through their Psyker Power.
  • Evan asked Malcador to send him home so he could return with his people and armies, and Malcador offered him braised chicken eggs because chickens had gone extinct.

Ch. 557Your end is my beginning.

Evan returned to Earth briefly, then Malcador sent him back into the Warp with his power and knowledge to continue humanity’s fight. Afterward, Alpharius took on Evan’s memories and essence, and Malcador revived Helian Cross as the first follower in a new effort.

  • Evan ate the braised eggs Malcador had prepared and shared a brief, familiar conversation with him beside the Golden Throne.
  • Malcador summoned Alpharius, then announced a campaign to reclaim humanity’s former glory across the Imperium.
  • Malcador infused Evan with psyker power and knowledge, then sent him through a warp singularity toward a growing point of light.
  • Evan reached toward Earth, swallowed his last braised egg, and set out again.
  • Alpharius replicated Evan’s essence and received his memories from Malcador, who then healed Helian Cross and watched him awaken before the Golden Throne.
