Arc 5The Lost Souls and the Clone

Liu Zhipeng, as Overlord Leo, triggered a war between the Maynarkh Dynasty, Drukhari, Orks, and Imperials before destroying the Necrons’ Core Database and dying in a clash with Xunbekel and Trazyn. In his sixth life, he awoke as Horus Lupercal, rescued the infant Fulgrim clone, and confronted Fabius Bile in his laboratory.

  • Leo awakened millions of Necron Warriors, recognized the Flayed Ones curse among them, and confirmed it had not affected him.
  • Xunbekel discovered Liu Zhipeng’s living soul and tried to seize him, but he escaped, sparked a Third Legion rebellion, and lured Orks and Aeldari to the Tomb World.
  • Liu Zhipeng found a dormant Dolmen Gate, released ancient warships, and fled through the Webway, then crashed into Asdrubael Vect’s quarters in Commorragh and stole the Khaine Shard.
  • Vect’s fleet attacked the Maynarkh Dynasty through the Dolmen Gate, while Leo’s intelligence brought an Imperial fleet to the battle and Sanguinius led the Blood Angels into the Highest Dome.

Arc 6Horus Breaks Free

Horus escaped Harmony with infant Fulgrim, then broke out of Trazyn’s museum with an army of imprisoned Imperial warriors and a complete STC. After the Great Rift swept his fleet to Zelanis, Horus rallied the defenders and killed the Ork warboss Ugrul, leaving the Orks disorganized.

  • Horus killed Fabius Bile, escaped Harmony in a Stormbird with baby Fulgrim, and fled the Chaos Gods’ pursuit through the Eye of Terror with the Emperor’s aid.
  • Trazyn captured Horus and Fulgrim for Solemnace, but Horus escaped the display case, seized the museum’s control network, and freed imprisoned Imperial warriors.
  • Horus gathered the Imperial forces, took Trazyn’s gene-seed collection and a complete STC, then caused Solemnace’s exhibits to break free as his troops escaped aboard a frigate.

Arc 7The Dawn Returns

Horus built Zelanis into a rising power, entrusted its future to Fulgrim, and led the Dawn fleet into battles against his corrupted counterparts and the enemies of Vigilus. After defeating Mortarion and Angron, he reached Vigilus, rallied its defenders, shattered a Genestealer cult, and began targeting the Ork warbosses sustaining the WAAAGH!.

  • Horus made Zelanis the foundation of his plans, gave Sage Malthus the complete STC, and tasked him with advancing its technology.
  • Horus proposed rebuilding all eighteen Legiones Astartes, naming the former traitor Legions the Penitent Legions, and eventually won Alcato’s reluctant support.
  • Fifteen years later, Horus revealed the Great Rift and departed for Vigilus, leaving Fulgrim as Lord Regent of Zelanis.

Arc 8The Ember Guard Rises

After Horus dies, Liu Zhipeng begins his seventh life as an Avatar of Khaine and rallies the Aeldari against Chaos and the Tyranids. He saves Biel-Tan and Iyanden, then leads an Aeldari gathering that is ambushed by Slaanesh, where Skarbrand’s arrival turns the battle against Fulgrim.

  • Horus killed Abaddon but was mortally wounded by a Cabal assassin, then entrusted Cawl with a technology chip and named Fulgrim as his successor before disintegrating.
  • Perturabo killed Inquisitor Katavonus, and Guilliman later appointed Fulgrim Warmaster of Imperium Nihilus after learning that Horus had died.
  • Liu Zhipeng was reborn on Biel-Tan, absorbed the Khaine Shard, and became Ember, using his golden flames to defeat Slaanesh’s daemons and rally the Aeldari.
