Arc 9The Eye of Terror Campaign

Liu Zhipeng united Imperial and Aeldari forces, defeated Abaddon and helped resurrect Guilliman before leading a campaign to seal the Eye of Terror. When the Four Gods destroyed three of the four Obelisks, Liu and the surviving Aeldari plunged into the Eye of Terror while Guilliman organized the remaining Imperial fleet.

  • Liu Zhipeng escaped the doomed planet through Yvraine’s Webway gate, then gave Eldrad and the Craftworld representatives Obelisk schematics and set out to stop Abaddon at Cadia.
  • At Cadia, Liu Zhipeng dismantled the Blackstone wreckage while Cawl activated the Obelisk network, which cut off the Warp and let Liu kill Abaddon.
  • Liu Zhipeng, Yvraine, Cawl, Celestine, and Greyfax traveled through the Webway to Macragge, where Yvraine resurrected Guilliman after Cawl removed him from stasis.

Arc 10The Gretchin’s Hope

After sacrificing himself to wound Slaanesh, Liu Zhipeng reincarnated among the Gretchin and forged them into an armed rebellion. He captured Scrap World’s strongholds and founded the City of Hope, while an Imperial crusade gathered and his new Gretchin state took shape.

  • Liu Zhipeng led the Ember Legion through Slaanesh’s six rings, losing most of its souls before sacrificing himself to grievously wound Slaanesh and drive the other Chaos Gods back.
  • Yvraine led the surviving Aeldari out of the Warp, while Liu Zhipeng reincarnated with Primordial Divine Fire and the ability to return his followers’ souls alongside him.
  • Liu Zhipeng freed the Gretchin in an Ork workshop, formed the Ember Company, and equipped its fighters with modified Ork technology and Gauss rifles.

Arc 11The Jade VII Deception

Liu Zhipeng led the Gretchin from Hope Star to Jade VII, using a staged war of liberation to gain the T'au’s trust and supplies. After the T'au fleet escaped, he revealed his hidden forces, defeated the Orks and Tyranids, and prepared to deceive the T'au again as a wounded survivor.

  • Liu Zhipeng discovered a sleeping Necron army beneath Hope Star, ordered the mine sealed, and prepared his people to evacuate as Imperial forces attacked.
  • The Gretchin fleet fled into the Warp and accidentally saved the T'au ship Steadfast Heart from an Ork landing craft near Jade VII.
  • Liu Zhipeng presented the Gretchin as refugees seeking the Greater Good, accepted T'au repairs, and used propaganda to draw enslaved Gretchin away from the Orks.

Liu Zhipeng united the Gretchin and fought Saraka’s divine assault, then began a new life as Saul, whose miracles helped the Sons of Sorrow rescue millions from an Ork invasion. The Ark of Hope reached Optera, where Saul’s power led the Chapter to debate whether he should be revered as a Living Saint or trained as a warrior.

  • Liu Zhipeng secured T'au aid for Jade VII, turned it into the City of Hope, and spread weapons and messages that sparked Gretchin revolts across the galaxy.
  • Gork and Mork sent Saraka against the City of Hope, and the T'au withdrew their support as Liu Zhipeng ordered the Gretchin to defend their home.
  • Liu Zhipeng killed Saraka, but Gork and Mork revived him as their avatar, who destroyed the First Wall and killed countless Gretchin defenders.
