After Afanisi decided to force her way into the Alt District, this so-called "war" had already entered its final stages.
Of course, none of the analyses circulating on District 25's internet came anywhere close to predicting the outcome. Some might have guessed that Jonas would ultimately win, but no one had expected his victory to be quite so dramatic.
Looking back over the entire incident, the defeated Void Realm Church had unquestionably emerged as the biggest loser. Yet it was not the only side to suffer devastating losses. The Peacekeeping Forces had taken a terrifying amount of damage as well.
One could say that the Peacekeeping Forces had taken two blows meant for the Alt Conglomerate. The Void Realm Church's fiercest attacks had all landed on them. Of course, perhaps Afanisi had simply been too confident and misjudged the Alt Conglomerate's strength. Had she known about Jonas's trump cards beforehand, the war might have ended differently.
Of course, it was clearly too late to discuss any of that now. The matter was over, and the defeated Void Realm Church had slunk away to hide.
The once-unstoppable Void Realm Church had now been beaten into fleeing in every direction like a stray dog. Naturally, that was tremendously encouraging.
However, very few people actually knew that the war was over. After all, Jonas had no intention of announcing victory so soon. In his view, taking a little time to catch his breath would benefit both him and the Alt Conglomerate.
And so Jonas quietly gave himself a week's vacation, deciding to spend that week getting some proper rest.
