Background / History

Before the apocalypse, Nana was a top student in her final year of high school. She had received an acceptance letter from one of the country’s best universities when the disaster struck 49.

By the time Chen Ye meets her, she belongs to the convoy’s better-equipped front group and owns a modified SUV. She is one of its three established Transcendents, alongside Chu Che and Iron Lion, before Chen Ye is welcomed as the supposed fourth 10 11 12.

Personality

Nana is outspoken, hot-tempered, and willing to challenge both survivors and fellow Transcendents. She rejects the idea that children or elders should escape accountability because of their age, sharply rebuking Iron Lion when he excuses Zhuangzhuang’s behavior. During scavenging, she stops arguments and makes obedience a condition of following her 18 25.

Her confidence does not make her fearless. The corpse-covered willow leaves her visibly trembling, and she becomes deeply unsettled when its attacks evade her enhanced senses. Despite this, she continues leading the expedition and volunteers to investigate the village chief’s dark basement first 24 26 27.

Outside combat, she is playful, informal, and fond of alcohol. She enjoys Chen Ye calling her “Big Sis Nana,” brings back an entire backpack of beer, and drinks Chu Che’s prized tea—including the leaves—without ceremony. Her friendliness does not prevent hard bargaining: after trading cigarettes for Chen Ye’s beer, she privately complains that he cheated her 42 43 47.
