"Damn." He opened his eyes and swore under his breath.
Ponzu opened her eyes and looked at him. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Odin said. "Just another failed attempt."
Ponzu nodded, closed her eyes, and went back to her own training.
She knew she couldn't take part in developing Odin's Nen Ability, just as Odin couldn't take part in developing hers.
Unwilling to give up, Odin tried several more times.
He gathered Internal Energy at his Dantian, but there was nothing there to hold it. Aside from nearly creating a stone outside his intestines, it had no effect.
He tried gathering Internal Energy in his bones, hoping to use them to store it, and nearly died from the pain.
It wouldn't work. Not at all.
He opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling.
What should I do?
He thought about it. Perhaps he could forcibly create a space inside his body to store Internal Energy.
But just thinking about that sounded dangerous.
He gave up on that approach for the time being.
Odin tried simulating Internal Energy outside his body instead, hoping to achieve Core Formation outside his body.
This approach showed some promise. At least he could make the mass of Nen he had converted into Internal Energy circle around him.
But it took too much concentration. To achieve that, he might need to reach Netero's plantlike mental state.
At that point, he would be able to maintain Ten around the clock, as well as maintain Core Formation outside his body at all times.
But not now.
Even setting aside whether he could do it, Odin wouldn't do it even if he could.
Odin really didn't want to be in a vegetative mental state.
Time ticked by.
On the afternoon of September 10, the sun began sinking toward the west.
