The receptionist checked the time, her smile utterly flawless.
"Congratulations, all four of you."
"You completed registration just before the deadline."
She entered their information into the system.
Then she looked up.
"Starting on the 200th Floor."
"The match rules are completely different from those below."
The receptionist's voice echoed through the empty hall.
"First."
"In matches on the 200th Floor and above, any weapon is permitted."
"Second."
"There are no restrictions on the matches. You are responsible for your own life."
"Third."
"Win ten matches here, and you will earn the right to challenge a floor master."
The receptionist paused.
Then she dropped one last bombshell.
"Finally."
"There is no prize money for matches on the 200th Floor and above."
"Here, fighters battle for honor alone."
The entire registration area fell silent for three seconds.
Luo Ye froze with his finger halfway to his ear.
His mouth hung slightly open.
His eyes went wide.
"What?"
Luo Ye thought he had misheard.
"Say that again?"
"No more money?"
The receptionist nodded with a smile.
"That's correct, sir. To preserve the purity of combat, monetary rewards have been eliminated from the 200th Floor onward."
Luo Ye's face fell instantly.
He felt as though the sky had come crashing down.
What kind of bullshit rule is that?
No money for fighting?
Any weapons allowed, your life on the line, and they don't even pay you?
This isn't an arena. It's a fucking sweatshop.
They're just exploiting free labor.
Luo Ye couldn't accept this cruel reality.
He slammed his hand on the desk.
"No money? This rule of yours is nothing but an exploitative clause!"
"I strongly protest!"
"I want to see your boss!"
"This is a serious violation of labor laws!"
The receptionist maintained her professional smile, completely ignoring Luo Ye's bellowing.
