Chihane followed Shizune into the Senju Clan compound.

Now he finally understood why no one had answered, despite how long he had spent knocking.

The distance from the main gate to Tsunade's home was over a hundred meters, yet there was not a single person around. The entire compound stood empty.

Chihane had known for some time that the Senju Clan had fallen on hard times in recent years, but he had never imagined they had declined this far.

When they reached Tsunade's house, Shizune pushed the door open, and Chihane followed her inside. The moment he entered the living room, he saw-

Tsunade was sprawled sideways in a chair, still holding a bottle of liquor. Her neckline exposed a broad expanse of pale skin and a cleft deep enough to suffocate someone. Empty bottles littered the floor.

One look was enough to tell him that Tsunade had drunk heavily the night before and fallen asleep in the chair.

Shizune saw her too. Blushing, she hurriedly shoved Chihane outside, after which a flurry of clattering noises came from the house.

Chihane waited quite a while before Shizune called him back inside.

Sure enough, the room was much tidier this time.

All the bottles and jars on the floor had disappeared, and Tsunade was properly dressed and sitting in her chair. Chihane could not help feeling a little disappointed.

"Brat, why are you here looking for me instead of spending time with your little girlfriend?"

Tsunade stared at Chihane with bleary, clearly sleep-deprived eyes and asked in confusion.

If she remembered correctly, a very pretty girl had been at Chihane's side during the practical exam at the Ninja Academy.

"Can't I visit you without needing something, Tsunade?"

Chihane made himself right at home, picking up some of the fruit Shizune
