Background & History

Huayue was raised as a preparatory member of the Konoha Orphanage after both of his parents died in the Second Great Ninja War. Their death notices triggered his Mangekyō Sharingan’s awakening. He graduated from the Ninja Academy by breaking Orochimaru’s genjutsu and freeing the other students, then was sent to the Third Great Ninja War alongside Anko and Yugao. 2

He sought powerful but discreet techniques to survive the battlefield, negotiating with the Black Nine-Tails for instruction in exchange for offerings. Orochimaru became interested in his potential and later supplied materials for Huayue’s research. 2 16

Huayue completed an S-rank mission while still considered a genin, receiving five million ryō and the Kusanagi Sword. He had already mastered the Flying Thunder God Technique, defeated Chiyo with the aid of his summon, and was subsequently promoted directly to Jōnin for his wartime record. 17 26

At Ryūchi Cave, he achieved a perfect Sage Mode. His later research combined sealing, senjutsu, and ninjutsu into techniques including Blood Movement Armor and Silent Blood Armor. 30 55 188

Personality

Huayue is highly independent and openly dismissive of authority when he believes it is acting hypocritically or incompetently. He refuses to be bound by either Konoha’s Will of Fire ideology or unconditional loyalty to the Uchiha Clan, regarding both as expendable to his own goals. 40 152

He is calculating in political matters, often allowing others to reveal their intentions while withholding his own. Although he can be playful with the Black Nine-Tails and his close associates, he is ruthless when confronting threats such as Madara, Black Zetsu, Root, and the old shinobi order. 18 55 56 65
