Sakazuki walked over.
"What happened?"
Carol said:
"Kaido of the Beasts, one of the Four Emperors, fought Red-Haired Shanks on Bitter Island."
"But neither could get the better of the other, so they eventually went their separate ways."
"Bitter Island sank... the residents..."
Sakazuki narrowed his eyes.
"Neither could get the better of the other, huh..."
"He's growing that quickly?"
"Looks like a fourth pirate emperor will emerge in a few years."
Carol froze.
"That soon?"
"Isn't he the same age as Enel?"
"Talent is hard to judge."
"Rosinante is the same age as Enel too..."
A few dark lines crossed Carol's forehead.
"Uh..."
"Fair point."
"But everyone was wiped out..."
Sakazuki shook his head.
"Countless towns get slaughtered by pirates every year."
"It's just that some kill more and others kill less."
"This island is only a tiny glimpse of it all. We don't have time to dwell on it."
"Let's go. We're heading out."

Carol folded the newspaper, put it away, and followed him.
