As each successive wave of monsters grew stronger, the players also realized that these monsters were becoming harder and harder to kill.
Starting with the seventh wave, the players who tried to reap easy rewards out in the wilderness paid a terrible price.
The remaining players obediently retreated into their respective cities, relying on the fortifications to defend themselves.
Finally, another eight hours passed.
Dazzling flashes of white light streaked across the Wasteland.
Over two million Minotaur monsters appeared out of thin air.
They stood over three meters tall, their bodies bulging with muscle, enormous battle-axes in their hands and heavy breaths snorting from their nostrils.
"The ninth wave already?"
"Once we finish this wave, the instance will be over."
Su Ye gazed at the densely packed Minotaur army nearby, which stretched as far as the eye could see.
Humanity of Great Xia had not appeared in any of the nine waves.
That was hardly surprising.
The Gray Mist World contained countless civilizations.
With nine civilizations chosen at random to participate in this event, the odds of Great Xia being selected had never been high.
"Oh well."
"A Da, Fifteen, same as before."
"Follow me into battle!"
As Su Ye spoke, he shook the Soul-Severing Spear in his hand, making it ring crisply.
A Da followed close behind, charging out with a heavy weapon.
