Appearance

The Gale Ranger develops from a streamlined, lightweight vehicle into a large armored mobile fortress, then sheds its cumbersome heavy-truck appearance upon reaching Level 50 27 38 302 379.

  • Early body: Smooth contours, an armored enclosed rear compartment, and a roof fairing give it an RV-like appearance 27.
  • First Tier: Wider tires with deep anti-slip treads and a raised chassis 46.
  • Thorns deployment: Initially exposes dozens of half-meter black spikes shaped like triangular military bayonets, complete with blood grooves. By the battle against Changlu Gungun, the spikes are a meter long 55 94.
  • Level 30: Black armor gains dark-silver patterns; Tier Three advancement further thickens the armor and enlarges the ballista and turret 162 172.
  • Starlight Weave form: Startrail markings appear across the armor, becoming brilliant star-blue patterns when the template is activated 277 316.
  • Tier Four: Grows longer and roughly 50% wider, with dark-gold patterns, visibly thicker armor, and seamlessly fitted metal joints 302.
  • Wind God’s Wings: Deploys translucent wind-element wings spanning over ten meters from azure light nodes on either side 344.

Abilities & Skills

Speed and Maneuverability

Speed remains Su Ye’s chosen upgrade focus even when adding offensive modules 55.

  • Sprint: Multiplies top speed by five for a ten-minute burst. At Level 21, this produces a calculated maximum of 5,750 km/h 50 99.
  • Magnetic Anti-Slip and Adjustable Wing: Keep the enlarged vehicle agile during collisions, turns, and high-speed combat 94 95.
  • Autopilot: At Level 14, its self-driving limit is 40% of top speed, allowing Su Ye to train and sleep while traveling 55.
  • Kiting: Its speed allows it to maintain distance while the turret and ballista fire, including against Sandbone Cavalry and Silence Lords 170 233.
  • Limit: Violent sandstorms can slow the vehicle and blow bullets and ballista bolts off course 170.

Hovering, Amphibious Travel, and Flight

  • Air-Cushion Hovering: Supports ground-skimming travel approximately five meters above sand, bypassing vibration-triggered quicksand traps. It also carries the vehicle safely across magma fissures 165 197.
  • Amphibious systems: Combined with Sealing and oxygen supply, seal every gap and deploy two rear propeller thrusters for underwater conditions 260.
  • Climbing: Magnetic Anti-Slip and Crawling Wheels work together to ascend near-vertical cliffs 291.
  • Wind God’s Wings: Enables true flight rather than ground-skimming hovering; the vehicle reaches an altitude of 10,000 meters during testing 344.
  • Aerial handling: The wings provide a 30% turning-responsiveness boost, supporting sharp turns, barrel rolls, abrupt stops, and vertical climbs 344.
Flight altitude Reported fuel-consumption increase
100 meters 10% 344
1,000 meters 20% 344
10,000 meters 40% 344

Armor and Energy Defenses

  • Hard Armor: Reinforces the vehicle’s shell, compensating for its early emphasis on speed 27 54.
  • Tier Two armor and Bulletproof Tires: Deflect the machine-gun fire of Changlu Gungun and fourteen other players without dents or penetration 94.
  • Energy Shield: Stops bullets, RPG rockets, crossbow bolts, light blades, and corrosive acid in documented battles 213 275 320.
  • Mirror Reflection: Creates an energy-reflecting coating that returns 30% of energy-weapon damage to the attacker. Reflected light also blinds Focused Light Hunters during their attack 162 276.
  • Storm resistance: At Level 50, the vehicle passes through a hurricane capable of tearing steel apart without suffering visible damage 380.

Collision Combat and Gravity Field

  • Thorns: Retractable spikes damage enemies touching the bumper, doors, tires, or body; they disappear seamlessly into the armor when deactivated 55 126.
  • Ramming Horn: A streamlined cone with dark-red blood grooves used to pierce monsters and break enemy vehicles 123 126 213.
  • Gravity Field: Burdens surrounding vehicles and monsters with immense weight, sharply reducing their speed. Some First Tier vehicles suffer burst tires and collapse onto their chassis 211 213.
  • Combined attacks: Gravity Field immobilizes targets while the Ramming Horn, Thorns, and side blades tear through them 211 213.
  • Aerial ramming: After installing Wind God’s Wings, the vehicle kills a Tier Three giant eagle by striking its chest with the Ramming Horn 344.

Detection, Communication, and Concealment

  • Radar: Detects nearby soldiers, players, and monster formations; Fifteen can adjust its detection range 99 155 165 169.
  • Signal Infiltration: Forces entry into other vehicles’ communication channels for eavesdropping and signal interference 162.
  • Smoke Generator: Rapidly produces dense smoke across a wide area to conceal retreats or counterattacks 162.
  • Intelligent Life: Fifteen manages cabin conditions, weapons, module activation, and combat monitoring 94 162 276.
  • Additional recorded systems: Camouflage, Interference, Communicator, Life Detection, Emergency Ejection, Decoy Projection, and Phantom Projection 245 379.

    • Salvaged from Changlu Gungun’s dismantled vehicle and initially installed at the rear. Installation on a Tier Two vehicle immediately enlarges and strengthens it 97.
    • Upgraded into a twelve-barreled Storm Autocannon: 200% increased firing rate, 100% increased muzzle velocity, minor armor penetration, exceptional overheating resistance, and 300% increased suppression against low-tier targets when forming a web of fire 359.
    • Used for sustained covering fire against Pursuers inside a hurricane 380.
  • Army-Breaker Cannon → Annihilation Cannon

    • Installed at the front as Su Ye’s main gun 131.
    • Charging grants tenfold damage; Starlight Weave later multiplies its fully charged destructive power by at least another five 328 359.
    • Upgraded into the Annihilation Cannon; the barrel becomes longer and sleeker, with blue energy circuits around its muzzle 359.
  • Caltrops Dispenser → Magnetic Storm Mine Deployment Array

    • Originally scatters spiked iron balls to hinder pursuers 212.
    • Its upgraded miniature mines detect approaching enemies, attach to them, and detonate for area electromagnetic paralysis and physical damage 359.
    • Concealed rear launchers scatter mines behind and beside the moving vehicle 380.

  • Spatial folding — Partitions the expanded cabin into separate rooms when additional buildings are installed 221.

History

The Gale Ranger initially prioritizes speed and lacks mounted weapons. During the Beginner Period, such weapons are unavailable, so Su Ye adds Thorns to give it an offensive capability while retaining speed as its upgrade focus. He installs the Roof-Mounted Ballista after the Beginner Period and later salvages a turret from Changlu Gungun 54 55 84 97.

Its expanded interior turns it into Su Ye’s home as well as his transport. Subsequent building installations add drone deployment, smelting, cultivation, and storage functions without abandoning its frontline combat role 108 210 221.

At Level 40, Su Ye postpones Tier Four advancement to avoid attracting the Gray Fog Civilization’s scrutiny. He eventually advances it when Ember Iron explains that the Tier Three vehicle prevents the furnace from producing Tier Four materials. Even afterward, he keeps it at Level 40 while accumulating enough materials for a larger upgrading session rather than advancing piecemeal 245 302 350.
