Su Ye had previously thought the Gray Fog Civilization could only send monsters to block their path within the game's rules. He had never expected it to be able to launch events as well.
"That's normal. The further players progress, the more methods the Gray Fog Civilization can use."
"Launching events is only one of them. Once you reach the Tier Eight or Tier Nine road sections, the Gray Fog Civilization can even deploy powerful fighters directly onto the road to target you," the Great Xia team leader said gravely.
"The Gray Fog Civilization has to pay some kind of price to launch this event, right?" Su Ye asked.
Surely it couldn't launch an event whenever it pleased. Otherwise, players would spend every day struggling to keep up.
"Of course there's a price. The main cost is a huge amount of survival points. And after a civilization launches an event, it has a cooldown of at least one month, depending on the event's scale."
The Great Xia team leader explained, "Launching a server-wide event like this costs an enormous number of survival points, so it usually requires many civilizations to work together. This time, a total of 147 Gray Fog Civilizations joined forces to pool enough survival points to launch it."
Understanding dawned on Su Ye.
It seemed the Survival Road's game rules still placed severe restrictions on the Gray Fog Civilization.
Those restrictions simply weakened as players grew stronger and traveled farther.
"This event doesn't pose much of a threat to me, now that I know its real purpose."
Su Ye smiled. "Now I'm more curious about what rewards the Gray Fog Civilization has set for the King's Challenge."
"Never mind the King's Challenge rewards. Even the Gray Fog Civilization itself doesn't know what the rank rewards will be."
