It took me quite a while to finally understand what Satoru Gojo meant.
I really hadn't expected someone so self-centered to have such a sensitive heart.
I turned to Suguru Geto, who had no idea what was going on, and said, "It's fine, don't worry about it. He's someone I've known for almost two years... uh, I suppose you could call him a childhood friend."
Then I introduced him to Satoru Gojo. "This is Suguru Geto. I met him on my last mission. The whole reason I brought you to Tokyo this time was to introduce you two."
The implication was that I hadn't gone behind his back and made a close friend, as he'd imagined.
-Satoru Gojo automatically interpreted her words that way, then grudgingly forgave her.
This also marked Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo's official first meeting.
In short, aside from the initial misunderstanding, the two of them quickly hit it off, just as I'd expected.
During the initial misunderstanding, Satoru Gojo had found everything about Suguru Geto irritating. But once it was cleared up, it took him only two short hours to decide that this guy was practically a perfect match for him!
The contact name I'd given Satoru Gojo on my phone said it all. Although he occasionally went out, he was still essentially a "sheltered Six Eyes," curious about all sorts of unfamiliar things in the outside world, and Suguru Geto could make an excellent guide.
Besides, although Suguru Geto was still weak, his Six Eyes could tell that Geto would become very strong in the future.
-Satoru Gojo didn't like weaklings. To him, everyone except Kamu Zenin was weak.
And now Suguru Geto happened to fall outside that category, too.
So he was willing to be a little more patient. Besides... Kuang Wu had gone out of her way to introduce them!
As for Suguru Geto, Satoru Gojo was an "outsider," just like Kamu Zenin.
He could use cursed energy and see cursed spirits, so he wouldn't look at Geto like he was a monster, the way everyone else did.
Even after learning that Geto could control cursed spirits, he'd only calmly said, "That's a pretty nice cursed technique."
So even if Satoru Gojo had a bit of a spoiled young master's temper, Suguru Geto could tolerate that minor flaw.
Especially since... Zenin had already told him about it.
-["Don't let Gojo's attitude fool you. He actually has practically no friends besides me, and he's incredibly sensitive. Whenever I'm busy, he hides under his blankets and cries all by himself."]
["Really?"] asked Suguru Geto, who knew no better.
["Really. So could you be a little patient with Gojo when you meet him, Geto?"]
Suguru Geto thought, Even kids born into Jujutsu Society don't have many people to play with...
And according to Kamu Zenin, both their families were so old-fashioned that they hadn't even been allowed outside as children, because curse user assassins were always trying to kill them.
Even now, they'd only gained their families' permission to go out by desperately working to improve their strength.
How pitiful...
At least I used to be happy. Though I haven't had many friends since awakening my cursed technique, I'm much better off than they are, with no childhood to speak of and assassination attempts to worry about.
Seeing them get along put me at ease.
After spending an hour with them, I eagerly stood up and put on a troubled expression. "Gojo, Geto, I've got something to do, so I'll be heading off."
"Another mission?" Satoru Gojo frowned.
He truly couldn't understand why Kuang Wu was so obsessed with growing stronger that she'd even taken on so many missions from Jujutsu Headquarters.
He'd heard about that mission two days ago. Jujutsu Headquarters had nearly gotten her killed with faulty information!
Actually, I hadn't taken any more missions since the one two days ago.
But that didn't stop me from using Jujutsu Headquarters as an excuse.
I gave a wry smile. "Yeah. You two have fun. My mission comes first."
The moment I got into the car, I finally couldn't keep the corners of my mouth from curling up. I was absolutely delighted.
