Jingye Meinan comes from the family of Luo Changtian, B1 Sector’s supreme commander. His mother died in an assassination attempt targeting Luo. Meinan resents his father’s absence during the incident and his preoccupation with official duties while Meinan was growing up 183 205.

Their estrangement also involves Meinan’s dyed blond hair and adopted name. Luo objects to his son abandoning the Luo surname and using what he mistakes for an Island Nation surname; Meinan counters that his chosen surname uses a different character. Their argument ends with Luo expelling him from the family 183.

Meinan later tells Huo Shuang that his father kept countless concubines and that hiding beneath their beds caused his childhood trauma. Luo subsequently confronts him about spreading this story, identifying it as a rumor rather than an established account of Meinan’s upbringing 156 183.

His confidence often collapses when Qin Yiguan forces him into humiliating assignments. He complains about becoming a corpse collector and fears his boss’s strength, but continues providing crucial support. Their friendship is built around shared danger, insults, and elaborate teasing 61 62 81 209 398.

Despite his manipulative behavior, Meinan articulates a limit when discussing Huo Shuang. He refuses to sleep with her because he believes abandoning her afterward would destroy the hope she has begun to recover. He likewise tells Qin Yiguan that he will not pursue a good friend’s woman 164 165.

Hall 157 and the Jiao Shensan Investigation

Meinan joins Qin Yiguan as an underling in Hall 157 with an existing Fusion Rate of 18%. He soon enables the team’s entry into the Research Society’s airborne fortress by obtaining convoy information and charming its logistics commander 45 47.

He remains Qin’s principal support partner throughout the investigation of Jiao Shensan’s different lives. His VIP access opens a crucial lead in the True City of the World; he subsequently diverts crowds, explores nested simulations, transports Qin, and collects bodies using the Bureau’s equipment 58 62 66 70 81.

During the escape from the collapsing Research Society fortress, he catches Jiao Shensan aboard the Three-Legged Cat but flies off course, leaving Qin clinging to the aircraft’s exterior. He then identifies the Absolute Hit projectile pursuing them 91 92.

Huo Shuang and Imprisonment

Meinan’s boasts about Hall 157 help direct Jiu Zhengxuan’s investigation toward Qin Yiguan. During the ensuing confrontation, he draws Huo Shuang into a grove and uses conversation and Opposite-Sex Resonance to weaken her hostility 136 155 156.

He is later imprisoned in electromagnetic restraints and an electric-shock uniform. Deputy police chief Wang Shiwei releases him through an irregular arrangement and instructs him to remain publicly classified as imprisoned. His actual confinement lasts only twenty minutes 162.

Lu Zun’s Conspiracy

Ignoring Huo Shuang’s warning, Meinan enters Daxiu’s room, where she drugs him and tightens a metal rope around his neck. He is subsequently shown captive during an attempt to pressure his father 182 183.

He returns at the super train inauguration with Daxiu, Huo Shuang, and members of both women’s intelligence organizations. Their evidence exposes the short vacuum track and Lu Zun’s control of 459 scientists researching dispersed dark matter. Meinan publicly urges the soldiers to arrest Lu Zun 187.

His contribution earns an official welcome in B1 Sector. At home, he introduces 2,365 women as his girlfriends, asks his father for financial support, and causes Luo to faint 205.

Departure and Later Return

Meinan leaves for another sector with Daxiu and members of the Beauty Group and River Phoenix Society. Before departing, he sends Qin Yiguan the aircraft later named Shadow, whose hidden upgrades prove crucial when Qin struggles to catch the Far Sail convoy 214 221.

By their later reunion, he controls the Metaverse’s largest pornography empire. During the Time Men attack, he brings four female Higher Selves into the fight, helping turn the battle in the group’s favor 558 562.
