Chapters 151–175 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 151An ingredients showcase

Shi Hao and Shi Hou traveled with the Heaven Mending Pavilion group to Broken Void City, where cultivators gathered before the Hundred Broken Mountains opened. When Shi Hou entered the passage, the Black Pot disrupted its teleportation power and sent him and Black Pig plunging into an unknown region, separating him from Shi Hao.

  • Ancestor Mu Yan brought Shi Hou and Shi Hao to the Sacrificial Spirit, where Shi Hao entered an epiphany before the green gourd growing on Old Vine.
  • Shi Hou used his Heavenly Cave to vanish as the Heaven Mending Pavilion group entered a Spatial Passage to Broken Void City.
  • Elder Lone Peak and the Core Disciples found wanted portraits of Shi Hao and the black-skinned chef posted throughout the city, while Shi Hou watched an innocent cultivator get mistaken for him.
  • Shi Hao and Shi Hou saw a pureblood White Tiger cub arrive in a palanquin and joked about cooking it once they reached the mountains.
  • After more than ten days, the Hundred Broken Mountains opened, and Shi Hao and Shi Hou entered a Light Gate toward the Secret Realm.
  • The Black Pot disrupted the passage and caused Void Turbulence to sweep Shi Hou and Black Pig away from their original route as Shi Hao called out to him.

Ch. 152The White Bone Forbidden Land

Shi Hou and Kang landed in the White Bone Forbidden Land, where Shi Hou battled endless reassembling skeletal beasts. Frustrated by the lack of food or rewards, he demanded that the Black Pot summon Shi Hao, and its patterns suddenly lit up.

  • Shi Hou landed in a fog-filled forbidden land covered with bones, and Kang clung to him in terror.
  • Shi Hou followed a tossed jade radish’s direction and smashed skeletal hands that reached for him.
  • Shi Hou destroyed attacking bone beasts with his bare hands, while the System Panel detected nothing worth collecting.
  • The black fog reassembled the shattered beasts and summoned more skeletons, surrounding Shi Hou as he grew irritated.
  • Shi Hou scolded the Black Pot for bringing him somewhere with no food and demanded it summon Shi Hao.
  • The Black Pot’s patterns of mountains, rivers, and stars lit up after Shi Hou struck its rim.

Ch. 153Nowhere to Run

Shi Hou followed a mysterious black flame through the sea of bones until it led him to a sinister altar and a gray-white pearl. When he tried to flee, he found himself trapped in a maze that brought him back near the altar.

  • Shi Hou escaped the attacking bone beasts by opening his black heavenly cave, while the black flame remained and beckoned him deeper into the fog.
  • Shi Hou followed the flame through increasingly ancient bones and found a massive rune-covered altar with a grayish-white pearl floating above it.
  • Shi Hou refused to approach the ominous altar and sprinted away, hoping to avoid whatever fate the black flame had in store.
  • Shi Hou ran for over a thousand miles, but the black flame and altar reappeared ahead of him, revealing that he was trapped in a ghost-built maze.

Ch. 154Body tempering!

Shi Hou endured the crushing pressure before the black stone altar and tempered his immense blood qi until he could control it far better. He reached the first tier, but an instinctive warning stopped him from stepping onto the second.

  • Shi Hou used the Black Pot to shield himself from the death qi and began advancing toward the altar through the sea of bones.
  • Shi Hou adapted to the crushing pressure by resting and letting it temper his body, raising his blood qi control to eighty percent.
  • Shi Hou reached the altar’s first tier, where the pressure and death qi vanished, and followed the black flame’s path toward the summit.
  • Shi Hou felt an overwhelming sense of imminent death as he tried to step onto the second tier and pulled his foot back.

Ch. 155Kidney stone?!

Shi Hou failed to climb to the Nine-Tier Altar’s second tier, so he pried up a black stone and found a primordial Bone Fragment, triggering the altar’s defenses. A Void Rift swallowed him, Kang, the Black Pot, and the black flame, and Shi Hou crashed into a forest with something trapped beneath the pot.

  • Shi Hou recognized the gray bead atop the altar as resembling a kidney stone and decided to take something from the steps instead.
  • Shi Hou used his Stone Knife to pry up a black stone and retrieved a Bone Fragment covered in primordial patterns, which he stored in the Black Pot Space for Shi Hao.
  • The altar’s runes lit up and black mist erupted, opening a Void Rift that dragged Shi Hou, Kang, and the Black Pot away.
  • Shi Hou used the Black Pot to capture the little black flame before the rift swallowed them.
  • Shi Hou fell into a primeval forest and cushioned his landing with the Black Pot, crushing something beneath it.

Ch. 156A Shakedown in Broad Daylight?

Shi Hou landed on and overpowered the Nine-Headed Golden Lion, then began butchering him while Shi Hao kept the lion’s followers at bay. Just as Shi Hou’s blade was about to strike again, Huo Ling’er called for him to stop.

  • Shi Hou crashed onto the Nine-Headed Golden Lion and recognized him as a pureblood remnant while Shi Hao and Huo Ling’er watched from the crater’s rim.
  • Shi Hou cut off four of the lion’s heads and caught them in the Black Pot as the Golden Lion woke and attacked with sound waves and the Fearless Lion Seal.
  • Shi Hou crushed the Golden Lion’s attacks and pinned him down, while Shi Hao knocked away the lion’s beast followers.
  • The Golden Lion unleashed his Golden Prayer Beads, but Shi Hou shattered them with his Gray Blade and prepared to behead him again.
  • Huo Ling’er shouted for Shi Hou to stop as his blade descended toward the Golden Lion.

Ch. 157Unlimited refills

Shi Hou spared the Nine-Headed Lion after Huo Ling'er suggested he could harvest its regrowing heads, but the lion escaped into the Divine Cave. Shi Hao sensed danger inside, and Shi Hou decided to stay behind with the four severed heads in his Black Pot.

  • Shi Hou prepared to kill the Nine-Headed Lion despite Huo Ling'er's warning, until she suggested its heads could regrow and be harvested repeatedly.
  • Shi Hou decided to keep the Nine-Headed Lion as an unlimited source of meat, but the lion detonated its Golden Prayer Beads and fled into the Divine Cave.
  • Huo Ling'er and the other prodigies rushed into the Divine Cave while Shi Hou lamented losing his prospective meat supply.
  • Shi Hao warned that the Divine Cave felt dangerous, and Furball and Kang also showed reluctance to enter.
  • Shi Hou trusted Shi Hao's instincts, abandoned the pursuit, and set down his Black Pot containing the four severed lion heads.

Ch. 158One Small Goal

Shi Hou cooked Golden Lion meat, and he, Shi Hao, Furball, and Kang feasted before Shi Hao examined an ancient bone fragment that stirred inexplicable sorrow in him. A system notification then credited Shi Hou with a hundred million jin of blood qi, while a distant wolf howl broke the forest’s nighttime silence.

  • Shi Hou cooked Golden Lion heads with spirit medicines, and Shi Hao, Furball, and Kang eagerly fought over the meal.
  • Shi Hao and Shi Hou ate the lion meat and broth, replenishing their blood qi with its divine essence.
  • Shi Hou gave Shi Hao an ancient bone fragment he had pried from an altar in a dead man's pit.
  • Shi Hao saw blurred visions and began to cry when he touched the fragment, but he could not decipher its primordial markings.
  • A system notification credited Shi Hou with a hundred million jin of blood qi after Shi Hao completed a perfect meal.
  • Night fell over the Hundred Broken Mountains, and a distant wolf howl sounded.

Ch. 159Hunting Grounds Beneath the Moon

Shi Hao stole Huo Ling'er’s Golden Egg and fled with Shi Hou as the Wolf Kings and Human Prodigies pursued them across the grassland. Shi Hou secretly cut down pursuing Wolf Kings, then caught Shi Hao by the scruff of his neck as the chase continued.

  • Huo Ling'er and her companions escaped the Divine Cave and were attacked by the Mutant Wolf Pack, during which a guard dropped the Golden Egg.
  • Shi Hao snatched the Golden Egg and ran off, announcing that he and Shi Hou would cook and eat it.
  • The Nine-Headed Lion tried to seize the egg, but Shi Hou appeared and severed four of his remaining heads, then warned him to grow them back.
  • The Silver Giant and Feather King fled, while Huo Ling'er, the Wolf Kings, and Human Prodigies chased Shi Hao across the grassland.
  • Shi Hou secretly killed several pursuing Wolf Kings as Shi Hao drew them after him, then caught Shi Hao by the scruff of his neck.

Ch. 160-2000,0000

After escaping Huo Ling'er, Shi Hou brought Shi Hao and the others to a secluded cave, where Shi Hao studied a Bone Fragment while Shi Hou slept. Shi Hou woke to find the divine egg gone and twenty million of his blood qi missing.

  • Huo Ling'er learned that her guard had marked the divine egg with ghost orchid grass and ordered everyone to leave.
  • Shi Hou carried Shi Hao away under the black heavenly cave's concealment, but Shi Hao noticed they were veering off course.
  • Shi Hou took the group to a mountainside cave, where he fell asleep and Shi Hao studied the Bone Fragment beside the divine egg.
  • Shi Hou dreamed that something was draining his blood qi, then woke in the morning to find the Black Pot empty and the divine egg gone.
  • Shi Hou sensed that twenty million of his blood qi had disappeared.

Ch. 161The Little Wolf God

Shi Hou discovered that a tiny black beast had hatched inside the Black Pot and consumed twenty million Blood Qi Value. Though furious at the loss, he was reminded of his beloved dog from his past life and stopped threatening the creature, which nestled into his palm.

  • Shi Hou found that the Black Pot was still draining his blood qi and reached inside to pull out a living creature.
  • The tiny black beast emerged with the last piece of golden eggshell in its mouth, swallowed it, and belched a rich medicinal fragrance.
  • Shi Hao realized that the egg had hatched, while Furball protested and Kang backed away warily.
  • Shi Hou blamed the newborn beast for costing him twenty million Blood Qi Value and reached for his Stone Knife.
  • The black beast licked Shi Hou's fingers and shed tears, reminding him of the puppy he had cared for in his previous life.
  • Shi Hou's anger and grip on the knife eased as the beast nuzzled into his palm.

Ch. 162A Wife-Doting Maniac!

Shi Hou and Shi Hao fought over the divine egg and demolished a mountain, while Kang fled the cave with Furball and the little Wolf God. Huo Ling'er tracked the egg to them and arrived as the two continued brawling in the forest.

  • Shi Hou gently returned the little Wolf God to the pot, then blamed Shi Hao for the egg and slapped him.
  • Shi Hao and Shi Hou traded blows in the cave until their fighting sent Furball crashing into the wall.
  • Kang pulled Furball free and fled with it and the little Wolf God as the mountain exploded behind them.
  • Shi Hao and Shi Hou continued fighting through the air and into the forest, devastating the surrounding landscape.
  • Huo Ling'er followed the divine egg's tracking aura, found Shi Hao and Shi Hou wrestling in the ruins, and shouted for them to stop.

Ch. 163Mine!

Shi Hou and Shi Hao finished their physical fight as Huo Ling'er arrived and recognized the little Wolf God, whom Shi Hou claimed as his own. After Huo Ling'er slapped Shi Hao and he struck her in return, the two launched into a fiery battle in the ruins.

  • Shi Hou and Shi Hao exchanged a final punch, then Kang brought the Black Pot and the sleeping little Wolf God to Shi Hou.
  • The little Wolf God woke and settled on Shi Hou's shoulder, while Huo Ling'er recognized it and demanded it back.
  • Shi Hou insisted the little Wolf God was his because he had hatched and raised it, and Shi Hao grinned at Huo Ling'er's frustration.
  • Huo Ling'er slapped Shi Hao, and Shi Hao retaliated by striking her before she could turn around.
  • Huo Ling'er attacked Shi Hao with Vermilion Bird True Fire, and he countered with his own fire and Suanni's golden thunder.
  • Shi Hao and Huo Ling'er fought through the ruins, exchanging attacks as flames spread and the ground melted.

Ch. 164It's My Meat, I Want Some Too

Shi Hou watched Shi Hao and Huo Ling'er fight, then cooked the Nine-Headed Lion’s meat and traded bowls of broth for medicinal herbs. The battered Nine-Headed Lion arrived as everyone ate, crying that they were eating his meat.

  • Shi Hou teased Shi Hao and Huo Ling'er from the sidelines while Furball, Kang, and Little Wolf God cheered.
  • After watching the fight for an hour, Shi Hou stopped to cook four golden lion heads in the Stone Pot.
  • Shi Hao and Huo Ling'er abandoned their fight when the meat’s aroma reached them, and everyone joined the feast.
  • Shi Hou charged the Fire Kingdom guards medicinal herbs for bowls of broth, collecting more than a dozen herbs.
  • The battered Nine-Headed Lion rushed toward the meal and shouted that he wanted some of his meat.

Ch. 165Five-star review

Shi Hou charged the Nine-Headed Lion for devouring his soup, and Shi Hao beat it after it attacked. When the lion’s severed heads began growing back, the two forced it to submit, and it left as Shi Hao’s new brother.

  • The Nine-Headed Lion gulped down the broth and meat from Shi Hou’s pot, then tearfully praised how delicious its own flesh tasted.
  • Shi Hou stopped Kang from attacking and demanded twenty five-hundred-year-old spirit medicines as payment, but the Nine-Headed Lion refused and struck at him.
  • Shi Hao punched the Nine-Headed Lion repeatedly for stealing his meat broth until Shi Hou halted him after noticing four heads growing back.
  • Shi Hou threatened to slice off a newborn head, and Shi Hao offered to spare the lion if it became his little brother.
  • The Nine-Headed Lion conceded and called Shi Hao big brother, and Shi Hao welcomed it into their group.

Ch. 166A Meeting Gift for Uncle

Huo Ling'er tried to claim the Little Wolf God, but Shi Hou sold him to her after realizing how expensive he was to feed. Shi Hao also extracted a primordial stone as the pup’s uncle’s meeting gift, and Shi Hou planned to take the Little Wolf God back once Huo Ling'er had raised him.

  • Huo Ling'er tried to pet the Little Wolf God, who rejected her and ran to Shi Hou before Shi Hao picked him up to inspect him for runes.
  • Shi Hao threatened to toss the Little Wolf God into the Black Pot, then tried to feed him beast milk, but Huo Ling'er took him and fed him spirit medicine and a Fierce Beast heart.
  • Shi Hou decided he could not afford to raise the Little Wolf God and offered him to Huo Ling'er for ten stalks of spirit medicine after haggling over the price.
  • Shi Hao called himself the Little Wolf God's uncle and demanded a meeting gift, accepting one piece of primordial stone from Huo Ling'er.
  • Shi Hou put the spirit medicine and primordial stone into the Black Pot and quietly told Shi Hao they would take the Little Wolf God back after Huo Ling'er raised him.

Ch. 167The Chives Had Become a Spirit

Shi Hao and Shi Hou set out for the Ageless Divine Spring, but learned that the Rain Clan had prepared an ambush in the stone forest. Shi Hou discovered that his herbs and ingredients had been consumed by the chives in his Black Pot, which had grown into a glowing Nine-Leaf Wild Leek.

  • Shi Hao gave Shi Hou the primordial stone, and the group rode the Nine-Headed Lion toward the Ageless Divine Spring.
  • The travelers stopped at a silent stone forest, where an Earthfire Lizard revealed that the Rain Clan had laid traps and was waiting for Shi Hao and the cook with the black pot.
  • Shi Hou checked the Black Pot and found that his stored herbs, radishes, and crimson fruit had vanished.
  • Shi Hou discovered that the chives had grown nine leaves and were draining the essence from his ten-thousand-year-old medicinal herbs.

Ch. 168The perfect closed loop!

Shi Hou tested a magically enhanced leek leaf on the Nine-Headed Lion, restoring his severed heads and greatly increasing his strength. Shi Hou and Shi Hao realized the leek and lion could form a self-renewing source of food, then rode onward toward the Rain Clan ambush.

  • Shi Hou pulled a glowing leaf from the transformed leek and gave it to the Nine-Headed Lion to test its effects.
  • The Nine-Headed Lion swallowed the leaf, endured a painful bodily transformation, and regrew his four severed heads with even greater vitality.
  • Shi Hao and Shi Hou recognized that the leek could regrow leaves while the lion could regrow heads, creating a perpetual supply of lion meat.
  • Fearing Shi Hou and Shi Hao would harvest his new heads, the Nine-Headed Lion offered to spring the Rain Clan's traps.
  • Shi Hou and Shi Hao mounted the Nine-Headed Lion with Kang and Furball, and the lion raced deeper into the stone forest.

Ch. 169Golden Frog

Shi Hou, Shi Hao, and the Nine-Headed Lion pursued a Golden Frog through a wetland, but a powerful Rune formation trapped them and the frog fled. As Shi Hou chased after his lost meal, he severed one of the Nine-Headed Lion’s heads and stored it in the Black Pot Space.

  • Shi Hou sent Kang to sniff out prey, and the group followed his signal to a vast lake where they found a Golden Frog.
  • Little Gold warned that the frog was immensely dangerous, but Shi Hou and Shi Hao urged the Nine-Headed Lion to charge because they wanted to eat it.
  • A Rune killing formation activated around them, and Shi Hao fought the barrage with the Suanni Precious Technique, his Heavenly Caves, and the Bone Scissors.
  • The Golden Frog noticed Shi Hou’s fearsome blood energy and killing aura, then fled into the depths of the lake.
  • Frustrated that the frog had escaped, Shi Hou stomped off one of the Nine-Headed Lion’s heads and deposited it in the Black Pot Space.

Ch. 170A Physical Vortex

Shi Hou pursued the Golden Frog through the depths of the Lake, but could not catch it before it reached a fissure in the lake bed. He used the Black Pot to churn the water into a massive vortex, which began dragging the Golden Frog back toward him.

  • Shi Hou plunged into the Lake after the Golden Frog, pushing through the depths with his Blood Qi while the creature sped ahead.
  • The Golden Frog headed for a vast fissure in the lake bed to escape through an underwater passage, while Kang clung fearfully to Shi Hou.
  • Shi Hou tucked Kang into his waistband, planted himself on the lake bed, and expanded the Black Pot.
  • Shi Hou spun the Black Pot with immense force, creating a vortex that churned the Lake and formed a huge whirlpool at the surface.
  • The vortex seized the Golden Frog as it neared the fissure and began pulling its struggling body back toward Shi Hou.

Ch. 171If You Knock Someone Out While Dizzy, Who Wins?

While dizzy and unconscious, Shi Hou defeated Golden Frog with the spinning black pot and became a runaway black-and-gold top. He plowed through the rune killing formation, leaving Shi Hao and the Nine-Headed Lion stunned.

  • Golden Frog attacked Shi Hou with sound waves and a high-pressure torrent, but Shi Hou's constitution and spinning black pot shrugged off both attacks.
  • The black pot struck Golden Frog's armored back three times and knocked him unconscious.
  • Shi Hou's uncontrolled spin hurled him, Golden Frog, the pot, and Kang out of the lake and toward shore.
  • Shi Hao and the Nine-Headed Lion dodged the runaway top as it carved a deep trench through the ground.
  • The top smashed through the rune killing formation, and Shi Hao stared at its wreckage.

Ch. 172The Rain Clan's Prodigy

Shi Hou’s spinning Black Pot destroyed the Rain Clan’s killing formation and killed Yu Ze before racing across the wasteland. As the surviving Rain Clan geniuses fled to seek reinforcements, Shi Hao pursued them to claim a price for their ambush.

  • The Black Pot’s vortex swallowed Yu Ze’s Ice-Breaking Slash and ground him to pieces, taking his treasures and Water-Attribute Jade Slip with him.
  • The nine surviving Rain Clan geniuses panicked, and one ordered them to retreat and request reinforcements.
  • Inside the spinning top, Shi Hou slept peacefully while Golden Frog clung to the rim and Kang lay limp in his underwear.
  • Shi Hao watched the Black Pot disappear into the distance, then decided to pursue the fleeing Rain Clan geniuses instead of immediately chasing Skinny Monkey.
  • The Eight-Headed Lion carried Shi Hao after the Rain Clan youths, roaring across the wasteland.

Ch. 173The Child from Back Then

Shi Hao confronted and killed nine Rain Clan geniuses after learning their clan had attacked his parents eight years earlier. As he and the Eight-Headed Lion prepared to leave, the ground began trembling beneath them.

  • The Eight-Headed Lion blocked the Rain Clan group from entering the stone forest, and their leader recognized him and suspected Shi Hao’s identity.
  • The Rain Clan leader taunted Shi Hao about the attack on Shi Ziling and his wife, and Shi Hao silently launched a lightning attack through his treasure mirror.
  • The Eight-Headed Lion charged the paralyzed Rain Clan members while Shi Hao shattered their leader’s Water Jiao weapon and killed him.
  • Shi Hao searched the corpses for treasure while the Eight-Headed Lion warned that the blood might attract fierce beasts.
  • A distant roar shook the ground, and strange ripples spread across the muddy water as something immense moved below.

Ch. 174Little One Left Carrying the Pot

Shi Hao charged into a battle between four Rain Clan Seal-Breakers and the Black Pot, then rescued the pot and fled with it on his back. Wounded and pursued, he was trapped beneath the shorn-bearded elder’s Rain God Seal.

  • Shi Hao ignored the Eight-Headed Lion’s warning and ran toward the Rain Clan Seal-Breakers attacking the Black Pot.
  • Shi Hao overloaded a battered silver feather fan with lightning and hurled it at the four experts, interrupting their assault and letting the Black Pot fly to him.
  • Shi Hao caught the Black Pot with Shi Hou, the Golden Frog, and the others aboard, then ran while carrying the enormous weight on his back.
  • The Rain Clan experts pursued Shi Hao and struck him with needle-like rain that pierced his flank and leg.
  • The shorn-bearded elder blocked Shi Hao’s path and summoned the Rain God Seal to crush him.

Ch. 175Using Skinny Monkey to Block a Sword Wasn't Too Much, Right?

Shi Hao and his companions fled the four Rain Clan Seal-Breakers after the Rain God Seal nearly crushed them, but Shi Hao turned back to protect the wounded Nine-Headed Lion. He killed one pursuer with Shi Hou as a shield, then the middle-aged man’s ice sword struck Shi Hou’s head.

  • Shi Hao combined the Suanni Treasure Mirror, Golden Bone Shears, and Vermilion Bird True Fire against the Rain God Seal, but the Seal overpowered his attacks and wounded him.
  • The Nine-Headed Lion stalled the Rain God Seal with its Golden Prayer Beads while Shi Hao stored the Golden Frog and escaped with Furball, Kang the Black Pig, and the unconscious Shi Hou.
  • The Rain Clan Seal-Breakers pursued the group, and Shi Hao used Shi Hou as a shield against their ice and water attacks while the Nine-Headed Lion was badly wounded.
  • Shi Hao turned back to cover the Nine-Headed Lion’s escape, and the lion promised that Grandpa Nine Spirit King would not pursue him before fleeing.
  • Shi Hao used Shi Hou to smash through the middle-aged man’s water dragons and shields, then struck the broken-bearded elder in the chest and sent him crashing into the swamp.
  • The middle-aged man attacked Shi Hao from behind with a Blue Ice Sword, but the sword hit Shi Hou’s head instead.
